Contextualization and open mindedness is important when tackling systemic issues and not only depend on general knowledge due to uniqueness of the issues/people/culture of that particular area. Through this, you will be able to review and improve on the best practices as well as lessons learnt.

Actualmente, dentro de nuestras intervenciones en Trabajo Social falta tiempo, para crear vínculo, para conocer la historia de vida, para evaluar las causas, no sólo la sintomatologia y por tanto poder tener en cuenta todos los factores bio-psico-sociales que influyen como factores de vulnerabilidad en la persona. Una buena herramienta, puede ser usar la rueda de la interseccionalidad durante la entrevista, ya que permite al propio sujeto ser agente visual de aquello que le interfiere como privilegio y opresión.

You have to understand the a root cause of the the social injustice and know the people who are involved,once you have found it the involve the stake holder and come up with the solution of the problem.

I can continuously educate myself about systemic issues such as racism, inequality, poverty, and discrimination. Stay informed about social justice movements and the root causes of social problems. We can use different platform and raise voice to advocate for policy changes and reforms at local, regional, and national levels. We can Support initiatives that address systemic injustices and promote equity and inclusivity. We can create inclusive spaces within organizations or community where individuals from diverse backgrounds feel welcome and valued. Addressing systemic issues and promoting social justice can be challenging but we have to stay resilient and persistent in our efforts to contributes to positive change over time.

When we come to this juncture of addressing systemic issues, the best hope that we have in success is to first evaluate our own values and biases. This is crucial to know where we fit in the narrative. What then, are the stories of all others in our systems? If we can develop a grounded empathy for all, we won't just create change for equality we will begin a shift towards equity. This grounded empathy helps us to view the past with the appropriate lens but also focus back to the current situation to intersecting dynamics of the past, present and potential future. It is critical to continue to reflect on our own values and biases throughout this process in order to be of full effect to our clients implementing strategies and interventions.

Rather than building alliances I would prefer to maintain the idea of connections and partners. Whilst the challenge is the dissolution of a systemic issue, the idea of having to be aligned with someone or something perpetuates the issue. When you connect with others and partner-up to meet mutual goals, there is more strength. Take for example, a school yard bully-gang picking on a smaller group. The bullying is perpetuated because it is fed, the bully feels in control and superior. If others align themselves with the bullies even by association the issue is perpetuated. The small group being targeted feels small and powerless. However if the small group connects to others, exposing the bully behaviour, the bully-gang loses their power.

Community engagement involves building alliances with other organizations and fostering partnerships that bring diverse voices together. Grassroots engagement is crucial, emphasizing the need to listen to and amplify marginalized voices while involving community members in participatory action research to address local issues. Public awareness campaigns and educational initiatives, such as workshops and training sessions on anti-racism and systemic inequality, help in spreading awareness and educating the broader public.

This is true but caution needs to be exercised. People who have been, or who are currently subject to systemic oppression are fundamentally used to people muting their perspectives or speaking for them. There can be a real frustration emanating from those who want to help, when oppressed people do not speak out loudly enough for their liking. Please, have patience, continue supporting, don't give up. This might not have been the first time they have tried to have their voice heard. Just because you get drowned out by the white noise doesn't mean your voice gets louder. This is where the amplification is needed the most. Another thing about voice: The way you speak to me may not be the way I need to speak to you!

Policy advocacy is a critical aspect of addressing systemic issues. But, what is policy? Don't be fooled into believing that policy only exists on paper format. Any set of ideas or plans for action constitutes a policy. In order to address systemic changes it is important to be aware of the context of your issue and then to be able to clearly articulate your position.

Advocacy plays a significant role, where legislative efforts and community mobilization are key. Advocating for equitable policies and working with policymakers to draft supportive legislation are essential steps, as is organizing and participating in community events and rallies to mobilize individuals to become active political participants. Within organizations, promoting diversity and inclusion through inclusive leadership and establishing accountability structures ensures that practices align with social justice principles.

Bringing awareness to the issue that needs policy change is key. You cannot change what you do not acknowledge, and you cannot acknowledge what you do not have awareness of. Advocacy for reform can only be delineated accurately by keen observation. Observation and research should uncover the foundational roots of the problem that is causing the issue or break in the social structure. Once the source is found, then advocacy can bridge the gap.

Some powerful ways to reach out to people: - Use the power of videos like Reels and Tiktok to reach out to people to educate them. - Visual images always play a powerful role. Use authentic photographs to tell the stories and speak the truth. - Create and use AI art to educate people on the importance of equal justice for everyone. Videos, photographs, and art play an important role in educating the public. Use it responsibility. Always check for authenticity and copyright before using it, even if it is for a public cause.

¿Como realizar la practica reflexiva? En Trabajo Social no siempre es facil, estamos muy enfocadas en el diagnostico social y en realizar informes evaluativos que no tenemos tiempo para evaluar estos mismo procesos. Si las personas son cambiantes, ¿por que mantenemos sistemas rigidos de evaluación? La Practica-reflexiva implica que también la apliquemos a nuestro día a día, como agentes de cambio, a evaluar nuestras acciones con usuarios pero también con la metodología que estamos usando. Esto puede ser muy útil con personas migrantes, ya que sus realidades e interseccionalidades son movibles, variables y requieren de altas capacidades de resiliencia

Curriculum and education are powerful spaces to focus on social change, social justice and policy. Responding to learners in a student-centered way, paying careful attention to the socioeconomic contexts surrounding the classroom dynamics are helpful strategies I use when supervising or supporting students. I believe they are the future and where change will occur.

Utilizing research and data analysis to identify systemic issues and develop evidence-based interventions allows for informed decision-making. Publishing findings and sharing them with the social work community and the public can inspire and inform further action. Establishing mentorship programs to support new social workers, particularly those from marginalized communities, and creating networks for support and collaboration foster an environment of solidarity and growth.
