In both corporate life and personal life, accepting reality makes it easier to decide the next steps. This happened to me just last week. One of my clients, who is quite senior, reached out to us for services and asked for higher pricing to include his margin. I misunderstood and thought he meant a commission, so I structured the pricing to give him a percentage over a certain amount. He got quite angry when he saw this.
