As a mentor, seeing your mentee grow and explore new opportunities is a rewarding experience. It is interesting how a mentee's flow and growth come in waves. For example, a student is under time pressure with studies and activities. They may have a quiet spell, then reach out with ideas, news, or questions. New graduates may be open to a more disciplined schedule as they begin their career journey. In either case, your words of encouragement for their efforts matter. As a mentor, you offer support and understanding that your mentee may not receive from anyone else. If you want to make a difference in someone's life, I highly recommend being a mentor.
