How does migration affect the labor market in both countries?

A fine example of this where I live. At one point, we were suffering from a lack of manpower due to a policy limiting the intake of foreign labour in order to provide more opportunities for the local workers. However, after some time, it was clearly not working and eventually the policy was reversed. A lot of restaurants, factories and construction sites that were badly in need of those foreign labour are now vibrant again from their perspective. We're not saying that our local population is not attracted to fill the vacuum, but sometimes it's more of the lack of awareness or understanding of how they can actually fill in the vacuum, as well as the depressed wages condition in those sectors mentioned.

Many acquaintances that I've met have at least gone to Singapore due to the stronger currency as compared to my country. Nonetheless, it's definitely not for the faint-hearted, especially considering what one has to go through back and forth into the little but powerful island. Sometimes due to the kiasu culture of Singapore, some of my countrymen couldn't stand the culture for long and returned to our country despite the stronger currency and propensity to save. However, for me, there's no place like home.

True to a point , I can talk about Europe. From experience I can say that it may have a considerable effect on structural unemployment in the origin country, as the higher educated tend to move more so they can sick better benefits and compensation. Which may lead to less foreign direct investment for the country due to the lack of qualified employees and make the situation even worse for the people that are unable to move.

Employment goes both ways. As long both parties (potential employer and employee) are desirous of one another if it involves the relocation of the employee to another country, there's not much barriers to stop the employee from coming over, more so if the employee has a specific skill set that others don't have, making the potential employee in really high demand. This highlights the importance of upskilling for employees to make them more valuable in the eyes of potential employers. It is after all a rat race at the end of the day (survival of the fittest or most qualified).

In the destination country, the arrival of migrants can increase the labor force, which might lead to more competition for jobs, especially in certain sectors where migrants often find work. This can be beneficial if there's a shortage of workers in those sectors. In the country people are leaving, there could be less competition for jobs, as there are fewer people looking for work. However, if a lot of skilled workers leave, it might be hard for employers to find the talent they need, impacting certain industries.

Developed countries, they are in need of employees, qualified or not. The locals at some point they reach a level wealth that they will not be available for all jobs. Probably from them will be considered a low status job or a low payment job, so the need will be there always. Here automatisation of some jobs is not taken into consideration. The question is how well the new immigrants will be integrated in the hosting country. In some European counties it’s becoming a major issue.

Migration will result in diversity of thought and higher quality solutions that are more likely to be produced by a heterogeneous population than a homogeneous population. A homogeneous population regardless of the country tends to remain myopic and is perhaps accustomed to one way of thinking or solving problems. The ROI of a heterogeneous population is greater than the ROI of a homogeneous population.

Países como Angola que têm uma alta taxa de natalidade, dificilmente conseguem taxas de crescimento econômico e desenvolvimento compatível. Anualmente Angola está registrando cerca de um milhão de pessoas que atingem a maioridade e consequentemente não existe mercado de trabalho para a sua empregabilidade. Por outro lado existem países com uma taxa de natalidade muito baixa e uma taxa de envelhecimento populacional muito alta. Para os países nas duas situações citadas, a migração poderá ser a solução para equilibrar os mercados de trabalho.
