What do you do if you're unsure about how to determine your desired salary or raise in coaching?

Reflect on your skills, expertise, and the value you bring to clients and the company. Consider market rates, industry standards, and your level of experience / expertise. Engage in open dialogue with mentors, colleagues, and clients to gather insights. Be confident in your abilities and know your worth :) Align your desired salary with the impact you aim to make and the results/transformation you will deliver. Aim for a balance between your financial satisfaction and your professional fulfillment.

And don’t take it personally when a potential client says you’re too expensive. Expensive and cheap are relative terms: what is too expensive for a person, might be too cheap for another. So experiment with your pricing, adapt to your target group and don’t be afraid to charge what you think is right for your expertise.

Value your own experience as it evolves through your work. Over time you will be exposed to more and more situations your coachees are going through. Reflect on how you are helping, what worked and what didn't and value your journey. As you are better equipped your rates will naturally reflect it.

Let me give you my personal experience. Who is your idea client/s? What value do they see in what you are offering? Be clear on your value and stack this up based on what's unique too? How much are similar coaches charging in the market and what premium can you get over them? What is the opportunity cost of the price you set for the time you do the coaching vs. doing something else. Hope this helps.
