I have found it best for a career path is either going to be Hands on with testing and certifications which is the way a lot of companies have gone. The other is education then starting the path. You will find that people with the hands on will be making more than education just starting out. Education is great but you then have to be trained. If you can get Hands on and education you usually get a golden goose so hold on to them. Just my 2 cents.
