This article is a good start, but based on my experience riding this roller coaster of shifting donor priorities, here's what I'd advise. 1) Be real - really look at your donor base and how you've approached building it. Have you become too reliant on too few funding streams? how exposed are you to changes in your donors' priorities? 2) Expand responsibilities - funding declines can require everyone to get more resourceful. This means your team finding/building new skills. Don't be afraid to empower eager staff who are ready to grow into bigger roles. 3) Get Creative - expanding your donor base requires reimagining your role in the ecosystem.
