If you like to wear many hats, think big picture, and never be doing the same thing from day to day then marketing would be a great fit. BUT, be ready for everyone in your organization to tell you what you should be doing because they are "something of a marketer themselves."

It's important to figure out which kind of marketing fits you and THEN find the type of company you want to work for. If you are a generalist, a marketing agency isn't the right fit. Consider working for a smaller team where you can stretch your wings. Marketing is as much art as it is a science and a tiny bit of gambling, which means being flexible is key. It's also important to keep the RIGHT end goal in mind. Yes, there is an "I" in marketing but there shouldn't be when it comes to the work. Focus on revenue, whether that's for your own company or your clients. And at the end of the day, we go to school for "marketing", not B2B marketing, specialized marketing, growth marketing, etc. You'll find your fit over time.

If you're interested in telling stories and changing minds, marketing is a rich area of learning and growth that you'll love - provided you're with an organisation that aligns with your personal values. Marketing is a space where you get to tell stories and see your ideas brought to life. You are impacting lives because you are in the business of persuasion. It's a space with lots of room for creativity and honestly, the sky can be the limit on what your day looks like and what you create - as long as you keep your eye on the prize and are still focused on results.

If you possess the ability to effectively market yourself in any circumstance while also transforming weaknesses into strengths, you undoubtedly feel well-suited for marketing

Marketing requires a mix of creativity and analytical skills. You need to come up with engaging ideas while also measuring their effectiveness using data. If you're stronger in one area, you can collaborate with others or enhance your skills through courses. Seek feedback and experiment if you're more analytical. Finding a balance is key for success in marketing.

Having a mix of both creativity and analytical skills is so important, as it not only helps your marketing effort in optimising and driving better results. But it also helps you explain outcomes to the rest of your company, so they can better understand areas of success and areas of improvement.

Ser criativo e analítico apesar de serem habilidades distintas, podem ser bem exploradas e ativadas. Para a criatividade, enriqueça do seu repertório cultural e de vida para aflorar o seu criativo profissional. É isso mesmo, você precisa VIVER para ser criativo. Exemplos: Sair em um festival, uma corrida de rua ou mesmo uma viagem, podem garantir excelentes insights no campo profissional ao se perguntar: consigo aplicar isso no meu trabalho? Para explorar o lado analítico, esteja próximo de pessoas que gostam de analisar não somente dados, mas histórias, informações, notícias. Fazer o exercício de observação, absorção e tirar dúvidas, agregará muito.

The most important things every marketer should know are (at least): WHO do you want to address, HOW to address your target group, and WHERE can you communicate with it. Without answers to these questions, most creative processes are useless. So, in my opinion, analytical skills are the prerequisite for everything. A good and creative content creator may then bring it to an end... :)

Keeping up with the latest trends in marketing, and in your respective industry is certainly part of the puzzle. I believe that one of the most important attributes of any marketer is "figure-out-ability". It's ok, even required at times, to not know what to do next. But if you can rely on your expertise, ask really good questions, and reach for progress over perfection, more often than not, you'll be successful.

Being adpatable and curuious are top traits needed by a marketer. The drive to always test, try and learn will seperate you and make you sucessul in your career. What works today might not work tomorrow. Adaptability is key to stay on top of your game and help you reach your audience.

You will never be bored. You will never be unemployed. You will never stop learning. You will never stop teaching. You will be valued. You will give value. You will always experiment. You will learn about everything. You will copy, improve, adapt, minimise, simplify, combine, reduce, and find alternatives. You will read right to the end for a nugget of brilliance.

Consider the best that can happen to you is to get experience in a variety of companies and industries, even if they do not fit your scheme. You will have to adapt, which won't be easy but it will broaden up your perspectives and you will soon realised that some parts of a strategy used in one industry may be suitable for the other industrie. This is a part of the curiosity, being able to play around with the pieces of puzzle you have, especially in a very competitive market. The more puzzle pieces you have, the more you can play with it and create unique strategies.

Contribuir para a finalização de uma ação ou projeto em coletivo e assim no final do dia, do mês e do semestre, todos saem ganhando. Já sobre se comunicar, minha contribuição é escolha a maneira que você mais consegue se expressar inicialmente, verbalize as pessoas ao seu redor e liderança, a forma que você tem facilidade e ao seu líder quais são as suas dificuldades. Ele pode te ajudar a desenvolver. Se gosta mais de escrever, interaja assim e por aí vai.

O fato é que você não precisa ser do tipo comunicativo que sai falando com qualquer um, a idéia é você ter conhecimento sobre o negócio, ter conhecimento técnico e paixão, isso irá te proporcionar a capacidade de transmitir suas idéias de maneira que as outras pessoas possam entender

Marketing is a team sport. I repeat. Marketing is a team sport. If you like team work. If you are valuable team player. If you feel the team dynamics. If you observe and understand the team member roles. If you obey the team spirit and culture. You will be happy working in marketing. I mean marketing team.

Marketing is a cooperation of many different stakeholders to achieve all goals from the company (top-level) to individual goals (e.g. for single products or business areas). A Marketeer acts between the lines and tries to help to achieve those goals. Thus, the key to success is honest communication with all relevant stakeholders. What also helps is a good feedback and failure culture to try out innovative and creative actions.

Acredite no que está fazendo, o seu trabalho, as suas ideias e projetos evoluirão para outros níveis quando se faz com satisfação. Seja ético, não compartilhe informações sigilosas, evite falar mal de pessoas profissionais, é básico mas é importante dizer: não roube! Roubar o outro é roubar a si mesmo, e não necessariamente estamos falando somente pelo viés financeiro. A ética e educação precisam ser essenciais no marketing e em qualquer área. Pra vida!

The marketer is someone lucky enough to do a job where a part of the kid in ourselves is kept alive and coexist with an entrepreneurial side. Then there is the one that believes that those various awards (at least in our industry) have value, the other one that dresses like a Real Estate agent, the one that uses all the time words like redefining, luxury and whatever superlative, the other one that pleases the GM ego with interviews that are most of the time an intellectual embarrassment, the one that does the activation in the lobby with a couple of pictures, the one that is an agency coordinator, the one that takes a pix with someone and tags them thanking them publicly for the meeting etc. This could become the intro of a Jannacci song.

Once, someone told me that whatever you choose as your career, make sure that you are mentally prepared to do that for lifetime. So, either you enjoy doing that for life or you just do it for the sake for money. Go with the first one. Marketing is a creative field, a combination of Art and Intelligence. When you start to master the both, fun becomes double.

As a Marketing lead for over 15 years, to me, it's about the passion, drive and creativity in diverse aspects may it be analytical, strategic or innovative and the list goes on. Marketing is about relating to potential buyers, generating values and bringing a positive impact to elevate their experiences. My past experience as a Sociology and Anthropology lecturer, behavioral science, understanding characteristics of social norms and patterns are inherent in the field of marketing. As a Marketeer, continuous learning, exploring, creative mindset, thought leadership, forward and critical thinking are important traits as change is inevitable and evolving.

As someone who has a varied career path from pub management to clinical practice to clinical support and finally marketing, I have to say that marketing is a career that enables individuals to be individual! To showcase what you bring to the table in a huge variety of ways and not be placed into a box 📦 after all thinking outside of that box is key to successful marketing!
