Through my experience, I've opened up doors that wouldn't seem imaginable, let alone, plausible. But as the first step, use your hard skills (i.e., the things you have been educated through, or trained) and the soft skills (i.e., your personality-centric attributes), and then, combine vision, creativity, and the idea that you can do anything. Easier said, than done; however, instead of saying 'shoot for the stars', I like 'If you don't live on the edge, you can't see the view'. Test your limits, push yourself, and make things uncomfortable. That's the way to be able to evaluate your potential, and, by the way, you might just land a new path that will change your life.

It's all about open mindedness and global awareness. If one is aware of the oppurtunities around him, it becomes really easy for one to shift his/her career, or to explore new career paths. Now coming to evaluation, one can evaluate any career by looking at the recent trends it has set. For example, look at AI. Some say it's taking out jobs and the others say it is transforming the world. So, wheather you choose a particular career paths, is completely subjective.
