En mi opinión, la manera más efectiva de acotar el proyecto es eligiendo entre uno de estos 3 objetivos: 1.- Posicionamiento de marca(tráfico) 2.- Promoción(venta de productos o servicios) 3.- Generación de comunidad(viralización y seguidores). Lo siguiente debe ser establecer la(s) audiencia(s) objetivo. Entendiendo estos perfiles se puede pasar a la parte más gráfica. Para definir la estética, lo mejor es mostrar ejemplos de campañas similares, de diversos sectores. Para justificar la relación con ejemplos más alejados puedes servirte de metáforas: "queremos mostrar su producto como el ferrari del afeitado, por ello..." En caso de que el cliente tengo dificultades a la hora de imaginarlo, prepara un fotomontaje sencillo para apoyarte.

In certain cases, from my experience, it is helpful to use some visual suggestions of your understanding of their goals during initial discussion. This may help clients to define the task in less vague terms and provide more details through their comments on suggested visual interpretation about what they really prefer vs. some general explanation that still will have to be interpreted. Showing a schematic draft while discussing their goals and expectations and bringing a full draft to the next meeting usually expedites the process, and works well when there is already a set of templates to choose from. I believe that “good enough” but fast is what that most clients need.

Begin by precisely outlining the client's objectives. Understanding their vision entails diving into their target audience, the message they want to convey, and their overall expectations for the finished project. Ask specific questions to acquire a complete knowledge of these objectives. With this clarity, you can tailor your creative approach to client demands, ensuring that your ideas are both original and properly targeted to have the desired impact

To know what purpose of client actually need, i always use a simple question formula of 5 W + 1 H : What, When, Where, Who, Why, and How

Open and transparent communication is critical to project success. Effectively communicate your creative ideas and how they fit with the client's vision. Maintain a continuous discussion by delivering frequent updates and actively soliciting feedback throughout the design process. This continual discussion helps to avoid misunderstandings and enables for timely revisions, ensuring that the final product fulfills expectations without incurring additional expenses or delays.

To solve the client problem with your design, you have to communicate it clearly. That's why the formula of question very important to use here. How to communicate it ? You have to know who is your target audience, where is the place (maybe the media platform) and so on

Communication is something pedagogical. Never, under any circumstances, assume that your client (or supplier) is an expert on any subject. Value explaining, detailing, guiding and making yourself clear at every moment of your work process. In the graphic and design market in general, it is common for a word to have different meanings for professionals from different areas within the production process. Suppress some information only when your interlocutor clearly demonstrates that he understands what you are referring to, in the same way, demand the same method of communication from your interlocutor.

No puedes esperar que el cliente hable tu mismo lenguaje. Y hay 1 única cosa que debes evitar: que perciba tu propuesta como algo complicado. Nadie quiere que el proyecto se alargue. Te doy 3 tips para transmitir justamente eso: 1.- Muestra un boceto del resultado final: cómo se va a ver. Ubícalo en un MockUp para que el cliente se lo imagine en la vida real. 2.- Establece claramente los recursos necesarios para cada propuesta (tiempo y dinero). Así podrá tomar una decisión más informada. 3.- Muestra casos de éxito: apóyate en ejemplos de marcas conocidas que han invertido en campañas similares. Que vea el potencial de tus propuestas. Estos 3 conceptos ayudan a transmitir profesionalidad y agilidad. El cliente se sentirá en buenas manos.

Presenting creative concepts effectively involves more than just showing the final design; it’s about sharing the thought process behind it. When presenting my concepts, I discuss the rationale behind my design choices, like color schemes, typography, and imagery. This transparency not only highlights professional expertise but also helps clients grasp the strategic thinking behind the creativity. By explaining how each element aligns with their goals, I can demonstrate the unique value my perspective brings to the project, ensuring clients feel confident and excited about our direction.

The concept is the genesis of everything a professional will accomplish. However, people tend to forget the simple detail that there are different concepts, with different bases, which depend and vary on the training and history of each professional. Therefore, it is very important that the choices that form the concept that will guide your work are very well chosen, solid and presented in a clear and coherent way. The client and other collaborators on the project you will be working on can expect results and will also propose paths, in addition to working to advance the project, all heading towards the same path, as they expect the same result. It's the best way to optimize work and results.

Setting expectations with your team and the client can save loads of trouble in the future. It's great to have alignment calls or documents that can help keep track of the deliverables -- either weekly or monthly depending on the project. It's also great to use applications such as Monday, Slack, or ClickUp so everything is transparent to all persons involved.

If the client's vision surpasses these bounds, gently guide them towards more practical options while maintaining their excitement. This might involve presenting alternate techniques or recommending a phased approach to the project. Clear, honest communication ensures that expectations are efficiently handled, resulting in a more efficient process and a delighted customer.

View comments as an important tool for improving your work. Even if it appears critical, accept it as part of the collaborative experience. Actively listen to the comments and ask for specifics to obtain a better grasp of the client's point of view. Use this feedback to modify and improve your designs, demonstrating that you appreciate their opinions and are committed to attaining the greatest potential results. Treating feedback as a useful resource promotes a more productive and happy working environment.

When receiving feedback, I actively listen and ask for specifics to truly understand the client’s perspective. This helps in iterating and improving designs, showing that I value their input. Demonstrating a commitment to incorporating feedback not only enhances the final outcome but also builds trust and strengthens the client-designer relationship. It’s about continuously improving and delivering the best possible result.

Al final te dejo un truco para los cambios de última hora. En cuanto a realizar cambios que en tu opinión perjudican el diseño veo 2 maneras: 1. Proponer una alternativa(sensación de no querer hacer lo solicitado) 2. Aceptar. Y trabajar en dividirla en 2 acciones. P.e: "El vídeo va demasiado rápido, hazlo más lento": A- Recortar partes menos valiosas. B- Dividir en 2 vídeos. Es crucial establecer entregas intermedias para poder abordar los cambios cuanto antes. Aún así, llegarán propuestas inesperadas al entregar la versión final. Por ello te recomiendo que consumas solo el 80% de los recursos para el "final". El 20% restante lo dedicarás a cambios imprevistos, o si no son necesarios, invierte en detalles extra para tu cliente.

To agree to join a project, the professional needs to know if he has the stamina, willingness, knowledge and ability to act. Capacity is something that your history and training will determine. Knowledge is something to be determined by your training and your areas of interest. Willingness is the ability that you, when encountering setbacks, specific needs that have not been mastered and the need for adaptation, will have to overcome these demands. And breath is the ability you have to travel this entire journey while maintaining your health, well-being and balance.

Creativity vs. Client Needs? Here's the pro approach: Understand their vision & target audience. Present multiple concepts & explain your choices (educate!). Value feedback, but maintain creative integrity. Set expectations & a clear communication loop upfront. Successful design is a partnership. Make them love your creative solutions!
