And when such feedback is also linked to actionable steps it becomes even more meaningful. Another thing that could be very helpful is to involve the person receiving the feedback in the process of if identifying the actionable steps rather than laying these out for them. Ask leading questions that will make the person think about alternative approaches to their work, and specific steps they could take to achieve better outcomes. And contribute to their thoughts with ‘yes and’ to build on what they come up with.
