Contrary to popular belief: Your company does not need to be on every platform. Choose the platforms that best suit your company's business goals and focus your efforts there. Once, you've established yourself on these platforms and have the systems in place to consistently post valuable content - explore new platforms!

Selecting the right social media platforms is also key for effective marketing as it ensures your efforts are focused where your target audience is most active. However, it isn't necessary to be present on every platform; rather, strategic alignment with the platforms preferred by your audience maximizes impact. Additionally, monitoring competitors' platform choices can provide valuable insights, helping you stay competitive and informed about industry trends, ultimately contributing to a more targeted and successful social media strategy.

Most businesses use Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook as their go-to. No big surprise when content managers and copywriters only talk about those too. But platforms like LinkedIn and Pinterest can be more valuable for some industries. Not only because they target very different markets. But also BECAUSE they are not the go-to for everyone. The competition is less fierce. The individuals who use LinkedIn and Pinterest are do-ers. They want to learn, are looking for their next project or inspiration, etc. They may spend hours scrolling but they go to these platforms with more purpose in mind.

Not all social media platforms are cut from the same cloth, each possessing unique features, strengths, and user demographics. The key is not to spread yourself thin across every platform but to strategically choose the ones that align with your audience and business goals. For instance, if your focus is B2B services, LinkedIn becomes a prime arena to engage with professionals and decision-makers. Conversely, if you're in the fashion realm, Instagram becomes a dynamic canvas to showcase your visuals and style. Valuable content does not have to be high budget quality content. Valuable content can also be fast content just in time when it is needed. Everything moves so quickly these days, so making quality evergreen content is not only hard. It is mere impossible. Making content that is contemporary and fresh is therefore a survival tactic of today.

Focus on the Quality - this is a significant ranking signal for all social media algorithms. Prioritise content your audience enjoys. Engagement is a critical factor in how algorithms rank content. Encourage your audience to interact with your posts by liking, commenting, sharing, and saving. Trending topics often get a boost from social media algorithms. Keep an eye on popular trends relevant to your brand and consider incorporating them into your content strategy. Don't be afraid to try new things and see what works best for your brand. Experiment with different types of content, posting times, and engagement strategies to find what works best with your audience and the algorithm.

If your brand's website is its house online, your social media timeline is its front yard. Are you likely to approach a house if you see a bunch of unsightly garbage strewn about the yard? Probably not. Not if you have a choice about it. So make sure the content you have in your brand's timeline is good. Even if it doesn't get a huge amount of engagement — it still matters.

When you're a busy social media manager, it's very easy to fall into the habit of repeating the same type of content over and over again. Why? Because it's easy. It's what you're comfortable with. It's what you know how to do with minimal effort or discomfort. But you need to mix it up and experiment. And one of the best places to look for content ideas is competitors. Don't feel bad for doing this. Nobody knows it all.

Learning from Competition as a Strength. It might seem counterintuitive, but observing and learning from others, including competitors, can be a powerful strategy. This approach involves stepping beyond the comfort zone of focusing solely on your strategy and acknowledging that valuable lessons can come from external sources, including those you're competing against.

If you are well aware what your competitors are doing and you are able to surpass the idea you will change your brand's situation Social media has the highest and easiest reach and if you are not able to market here, you are missing lot more than you can imagine. The trends change every single day, different age groups have different interests and if you are able to crack this algorithm and observe and learn from it. Its always going to be fruitful.

From my experience, the worst you can do is to not communicate. Show presence, show your services/products, show people making everything in your company happen, share expertise (or they'll get it from someone else) and simply show, that your company is alive and doing well. Try out different social media channels, focus on channels that work and reduce (or delete) profiles on channels that don't work at all.
