What are some ways to keep your creative energy flowing all day long?

Breathe. Try forest bathing. Start a gratitude journal. Watch documentaries. Lose yourself in the flow of doing things you love. Give your workspace a makeover. Minimize distractions. Make a list of your most absurd ideas. Go on mindful walks. Do nothing.

Sometimes I turn my back to my computer and do some sketching. But nothing is better than starting the day off the way we do at Shiny. We have our morning creative meeting, then we give everyone the choice to join a 10 minute guided meditation. For me it unloads the stresses of the morning rush and brings crystal clear focus to my work. We started it a few years ago and I can’t tell you how positive of an effect it has on my creative output.

See! Create a daily routine that fits you. Start your day by making a To-do list, and jotting down your tasks on it. Begin with things you like, work on important tasks, take breaks, and end your day with relaxation. This helps balance life, reduce stress, and keep creativity alive. Also, feel free to adjust as needed :)

One of the most important strategies for sustaining creative energy throughout the day is routine establishment. By using an organized method, you may prioritize your work, cut down on procrastination, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Adapt your regimen to your tastes and objectives by adding morning routines that include reading, working out, or meditation. Set aside time in the morning to work on your most important and innovative initiatives, with planned pauses. Finish the day with some quiet time for introspection or relaxation to improve your general state of mind and maintain your creative flow.

The whole point of creativity was freedom. However, in the new world the ask from creativity is much more daunting. Like this question. So for me the most important part of sustaining your creative energy flow is identifying that some days you can't activate your creative energy flow. I think it's important to be able to identify these days and accept them first. It's also important to figure out the regularity of these moments, as it could be telling you something about how you utilize your creativity. Next it is important to have identified what activities or engagements will then re-energize or re-inspire us. I have a list of things I go to in such moments, and then next day is a whole new day for me. :)

There are so many tools out there, and I have tried many. One tool that worked well for me was TickTick. If you're in search of a tool, give it a shot. Here are some neat features it has: -Task Lists: Organize Your Work Efficiently -Pomodoro Timer: Time Management Technique -Habit Tracking: Build Positive Habits Daily -Tags and Labels: Categorize Tasks Easily -Sync: Syncs tasks across Windows and Mobile.

Try to make things or learn things OFF of the computer screen to keep your creative brain expanding and making new connections.

As designers, we want to find the fastest way to get our idea onto paper. Sometimes, tools can be the limiting factor as it takes time to generate our idea fully. Hence, by exploring new tools, we might be able to churn out our ideas better, more efficiently, and with better output quality overall.

Experimenting, for example, with working with your hands is something that is very recharging. There are quite a few activities that can be related to design - collage, linocut, painting, sketching, which both do not take us away from the process and allow us to try new things in a relatively new environment, from which we can possibly gather inspiration.

Consume a variety of content, from different genres to various media. Exposure to diverse ideas and perspectives can fuel my creativity.

Aspire to work with others who are better than you. This will challenge you, teach you, and take you to new heights! Remember “Never be the smartest in the room.”

Humans are social animals, and in the age of the Internet, many of us forget, ironically, how important it is to communicate. Even a positive message from a friend can energize us to keep going.

Feedback is important because it gives us perspective. Sometimes we can be too focus on our style of doing things that we miss other’s way of looking at things. Surround yourself with sincere people that will be honest and tell you when something works or does not. Don’t be afraid to contact a professional colleague or the manufacturer of the products you are using. Also be receptive of your client needs, if you give them what they need, they will certainly come back for more business but you should listen to them and their feedback. Be open to change your design for the best. Learn from your mistakes. Find inspiration from others Join events in your particular field and stay informed on new trends. Do research and read. Stay informed.

Asking for input and feedback on concepts is a great practice. Consider the source though. I recommend getting input from those you respect, admire and trust. :)

Engage in meaningful discussions with colleagues and friends, welcoming diverse perspectives that can ignite innovative ideas. By sharing the workload and inviting input, you not only alleviate pressure but also create an environment conducive to collective success and heightened creative output.

Do new things and go new places on a regular basis. Getting out of your routine lets you see things with fresh eyes...and helps you feel like your days have more length and power.

Inspiration may also set in when you break away from routine activities. Use a different route to work, change your style of dressing, talk to a new person, visit a new place, or try a new meal. You will be shocked at the results.

Indeed! Keep your creativity flowing by getting ideas from different things around you. Look at nature, art, music, books, and podcasts for inspiration. Stay curious and open-minded. Write down your thoughts in a sketchbook, journal, or on your computer so you can find them later. Your next great idea might come from anywhere! Just "trust the process" :)

Take time to seek inspiration. Read books, visit art galleries, watch documentaries, or explore other creative outlets. Try new techniques, tools, or mediums. Experimentation can keep your creative process fresh. Remember that creativity can ebb and flow, so don't be too hard on yourself during less creative moments.

Creativity serves as a driving force that compels me to explore diverse forms of design, experimenting with various tools in the process. If we extrapolate this perpetual quest for creativity into our routine existence, we begin to discern its ubiquitous presence — from perusing our Instagram feeds to engaging with content on YouTube. A trip to a museum may unveil vintage Kodak camera advertisements, and even our daily interactions with commonly used applications can be wellsprings of design inspiration. By cultivating an awareness to these elements, a plethora of design inspirations reveals itself in the tapestry of our everyday lives.

Keep in mind that nobody is going to get harmed by you messing up a design. None of this shit that we do is that serious. And everything we do should be fun. Well, in theory. We are human and will definitely get in our own heads too much. Enjoy the process and the journey. Don't worry too much about the result. All systems you have in place will make sure that the result is correct.

Play in a way that you don't get paid for! Try a one-off art class, sign up for a fun sports league, test out a new hobby and don't put any pressure on it to be good!

One of the places I find the most inspiration from is video games. Creating each one of them requires a lot of dedication, creativity, passion. Many games can give us great examples of UI, typography, logo design, etc.

I think the best ideas come from the most unexpected, and even maybe unsightly places. Unconventionality is a treasure trove of possibility when it comes to design. Who would think about the funny shape of the garbage can you saw, the unsightly but sensible colors of the trash in that garbage can. Inspiration is only as present as you believe it is! Regressing to childhood days and find the fun in the shapes and colors of every part of the world.

Okay, aside from what lots of folks are saying (drink water, take breaks or naps, meditate, journal, etc), I want to say remember back to your childhood… 💭 💚 What did you used to love doing? START DOING THAT AGAIN!!! ☺️ We all have that inner child that yearns for attention. One of the things I love doing that keeps me happy and healthy is going to the arcade. 👾 I’ve been going to them since I was 9. It’s been 20+ years. Why do I still go? Because it simply brings me joy, a safe space, and a community I’ve found through that. I’ve met many people from different backgrounds while sharing a game with them. I learn so much about others’ work and life. This is how I stay creative. 🌹

You are always learning and growing no matter how far or what stage you are in your life or career. Be open to making mistakes. If failure isn’t an option than neither is success.

Stay curious and never stop learning. Explore new topics, skills, and experiences to expand my knowledge base, which can contribute to my creative process.

Rather than forcing yourself to learn something new, you should make it a thing that you enjoy doing. As a creative person trying new things and posting them on social media would be a great way to find meaning in it. Make it a thing that you want to do for yourself. Learn to love the creative process.

I feel like this could be linked to the last point too as you’re able to have fun and play. But I like to take part in the daily One Minute Brief competition over on X. Everyone is given a creative brief to have fun with which challenges you, gives you a chance to work on the kind of designs you might not normally do on a daily basis, and exercises your skills. Some are serious but some are more fun and silly. You also take part alongside other designers who you can gain inspiration from. I’ve learnt a lot of new skills when putting together some of my designs for this. The winners get some great prizes which is good too!

Take a step back and refresh. Ideas come quicker from a place of calm. Leave the project and come back to it. Many times you need to zoom out before you can zoom in again. When you come back, it goes quicker.

My best days at work are ones where I can shut out distractions. Distractions can include work-related things, person things, or sometimes even environmental distractions like that crumpled piece of paper you just haven't discarded yet! By eliminating as many distractions as possible, I make space to be creative, which is to say I let my mind focus—or wander—but ultimately my mind arrives somewhere. I think that there are so many things that suck up our attention, so it's important we remain both mindful and vigilant.

Rest. Four simple letters and yet whomever designed this insists that I enter 125 characters minimum for this entry. Simply rest.

Se você faz home office, tome um banho na hora do almoço. Dê uma pausa de 5 minutos para fazer carinho no seu pet, vá até a janela e olhe para fora. Lave uma pequena louça no meio do expediente. SIM!!! Todos esses desvios de foco no trabalho podem ser extremamente úteis na resolução de algum problema. As melhores ideias surgem quando você se levanta e sai da frente do computador. O que você demoraria 4 horas para criar engessado numa cadeira, às vezes você consegue resolver em 4 minutos tomando um vento no rosto. Já resolvi layouts tomando banho e posso dizer que foi o momento mais produtivo daquele dia. ;)

Open up your mind! Be willing to try new design styles even if you think that doesn't work. The best part in trying new styles is, you try one thing and you end up doing a different thing and that opens up a lot of other ideas When designing. This leads to "10" other ideas while trying "1"
