Artificial Intelligence (AI) holds immense potential in the fight against child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA). While AI poses challenges, its innovative applications are transforming efforts to protect children worldwide. From detecting harmful content to identifying grooming patterns and dismantling exploitation networks, AI is a game-changer in child protection. Tools like CESIUM, Safer, PhotoDNA demonstrate how AI can actively support law enforcement and child protection agencies in real-time interventions. However, this potential must be harnessed ethically. Collaboration across governments, tech companies, and child protection organisations is critical to ensure AI is used responsibly. Prioritising ‘safety by design’ in AI development, alongside digital literacy for children, parents, and educators, is key to creating a safer online environment. On November 16th, we celebrated the International Day for Tolerance, an essential day that reminds us of the power of inclusion, acceptance, and respect. In a time of increasing social challenges, teaching tolerance, critical thinking, and providing different sources of information is crucial in creating safe and inclusive spaces, especially for vulnerable populations like children. Digital spaces provide an excellent opportunity to teach tolerance and create powerful and international connections. However, they can just as easily spread intolerance, bias and misinformation.  Tolerance goes beyond passive acceptance; it's an active pursuit of empathy and a celebration of diversity to strengthen social cohesion, reduce conflict, and enhance mutual understanding. As we observe this day, let’s commit to fostering environments—both online and offline—that protect and empower individuals from all walks of life.
