David Jobes was wonderful man and industry icon. As a generous supporter of The Above and Beyond Foundation his company, Motivation Excellence, facilitated the distribution of over $500,000 in urgent aid grants to front line hospitality industry workers during Covid. He also volunteered his team to assist with our Helping Hospitality initiative for workers displaced by the devastating fires on Maui. We are forever grateful for his generosity and support.

This year's IRF Invitational at Baha Mar Resort in the Bahamas was a series of touchpoints, all of them thoughtfully orchestrated to surprise and delight attendees. We were encouraged beforehand to share our dreams and aspirations, and the organizers actually made some of them come true—publicly—throughout the event. I was thrilled to be honored for my 20+ years of loyalty, but what made it so special is that the planners had researched my background, knew I was an art lover, and gave me a gift of art. They wove touchpoints like this throughout the week, including awarding a trip to Hawaii to an attendee and her mother, who had spent her honeymoon there but had lost her husband and was now having her own health struggles. Wow. All this was interpersed with warm Bahamian hospitality, scholarships for local Baha Mar employees through the Above and Beyond Foundation, socially conscious gifting from Ethos Event Collective and an inspiring keynote by Ben Nemtin (author of "What Do You Want to Do Before You Die?"). And of course, the annual live auction to raise funds for this worthwhile organization.
