Client Advisory Services (CAS) has become the fastest-growing practice area in accounting, with a staggering 16% year-over-year growth in 2024, according to the latest CPA.com Benchmark Report. 🔗(https://lnkd.in/gMYaAEuC) But CAS hasn’t always looked like it does today. Ten years ago, CAS stood for "Client Accounting Services." Back then, it was essentially bookkeeping with some automation sprinkled in. Fast forward to today, and CAS has undergone a significant transformation: From 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 to 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘆. From focusing on tasks to focusing on 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀. From internal efficiency to driving 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻? Firms stuck in a compliance-only approach will struggle to stay competitive as AI and offshoring become more common. The future of accounting is all about 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘆—building trust and working closely with clients to help them see the bigger picture. Is your firm ready for the shift? 📣 Shout Out to Momentum Accounting, Inc. 🏫 Check out the full interview with Nikole Mackenzie at Accounting High wherever you find your podcasts! 🎤 ⬇️ Check the comments below for links ⬇️ #ClientAccountingServices #ClientAdvisoryServices #Advisory #CFO #CFOServices #AutomatedBookkeeping #Shoperations #AccountingHigh #Accounting #Podcast #ShopClass #FirmOperations #SystemsAndProcesses

Are We Overlooking Second-Act Accountants? The accounting profession often talks about the pipeline. We focus on the young just starting their careers, and worry about those nearing retirement. But what about the 𝘮𝘪𝘥𝘥𝘭𝘦? There’s a demographic we rarely discuss: 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱-𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀. These are individuals who started in a different career but later pivoted into accounting, often bringing a wealth of life and professional experience with them. 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙩: Someone switching careers at 40 may not fit the typical entry-level mold. They may lack traditional accounting experience, but they bring invaluable skills from other industries. Yet, many firms and office environments aren’t structured to onboard and develop this kind of talent effectively. The profession isn't just missing out on untapped potential—it’s missing an opportunity to fill gaps in the talent pipeline. ❓ Students: What do you think about second-act accountants? 💬 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘄! 💬 🏫 Check out the full interview with Calvin Harris Jr., CPA at Accounting High wherever you find your podcasts! 🎤 ⬇️ Check the comments below for links ⬇️ #SecondActAccountants #CareerChangeAccounting #HiringPipeline #AccountingDemographics #CareerTransition #HiringAccountants #ExperiencedProfessionals #AccountingProfession #AccountingHigh #Accounting #Podcast #Coaching #AccountingTips #HowToRunAnAccountingPractice

Is Growth the Only Measure of Success for Your Firm? For years, we’ve been told that growth is the only path to success—that if your firm isn’t growing, it’s dying. It’s easy to fall into that mindset, especially when everyone around you is pushing for bigger, faster, and more. But here's a thought: Can your firm thrive without constant growth? Can it be sustainable and secure without always reaching for the next milestone? The pressure to grow can be overwhelming, but is it the only way to measure success? Maybe stability, quality, and fulfillment are just as valuable. Students, have any of you found your firm's homeostasis? 💬 📣 Shout Out to our substitute teacher Matthew Kidd, CPA, PFS 🏫 Check out the full interview at Accounting High wherever you find your podcasts! 🎤 ⬇️ Check the comments below for links ⬇️ #Shoperations #AccountingHigh #Accounting #Podcast #ShopClass #FirmOperations #SystemsAndProcesses #BusinessGrowth #Entrepreneurship #FirmGrowth #BusinessMindset #GrowthInsecurity #EntrepreneurialAdvice #BusinessStability #MindsetShift #BusinessChallenges #EntrepreneurStruggle

Loyalty Goes Both Ways How can companies demand loyalty from employees if they don’t offer the same in return? Loyalty isn’t a one-way street. Employees want to feel 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗱, and 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱—especially in times of uncertainty. If a company can’t promise stability or long-term commitment to its people, is it fair to expect unwavering loyalty from them? 🤝 True loyalty is 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱, not 𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥. It comes from creating an environment where employees trust that their efforts are met with respect, growth opportunities, and reciprocal commitment. If businesses want loyal employees, they must first ask: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺? 💭 What are your thoughts on the give-and-take of loyalty in the workplace? 💬 🏫 Check out the full interview with Calvin Harris Jr., CPA at Accounting High wherever you find your podcasts! 🎤 ⬇️ Check the comments below for links ⬇️ #jobinterview #resume #employment #careergrowth #workplaceloyalty #jobstability #employeeloyalty #interviewtips #careeradvice #AccountingHigh #Accounting #Podcast #Coaching #AccountingTips #HowToRunAnAccountingPractice

Is Your Company Website Speaking to the Right Clients? Your website isn’t just about listing services—it’s your firm’s first impression. Think about this: does your site reflect your firm’s personality and values? Does it align with the type of clients you want to attract? Your ideal clients should feel like you “get” them from the moment they land on your page. If you value approachability, your site should feel welcoming. If precision is your strength, let that shine. A great website isn’t just about what you do—it’s about 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 and 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚. Make sure your site speaks their language. 📣 Shout Out to Accounting High's Lunch Lady, Jason Ackerman, CPA, CFP®, CGMA, and our substitute teacher Matthew Kidd, CPA, PFS 🏫 Check out the full interview at Accounting High wherever you find your podcasts! 🎤 ⬇️ Check the comments below for links ⬇️ #Shoperations #AccountingHigh #Accounting #Podcast #ShopClass #FirmOperations #SystemsAndProcesses #Clients #Website #TeamPage #Photographer #PhotoShoot #ComicBooks #Personality #Accountant #Fun #Hobbies

Learning to Let Go: When the Team Takes the Wheel For many firm owners, letting go is one of the hardest—and most rewarding—steps to take.
