About us

SIGCHI is the premier international society for professionals, academics and students who are interested in human-technology and human-computer interaction (HCI). We provide a forum for the discussion of all aspects of HCI through our 26 sponsored and over 40 in-cooperation conferences, publications (eg. OpenTOC: Table of Contents page), communities, web sites, email discussion groups, and other services. We advance education in HCI through workshops and outreach, and we promote informal access to a wide range of individuals and organizations involved in HCI.

Gentle reminder that our deadline for the 2025 awards cycle is coming up on December 14th, midnight AoE! Be sure to consider nominating someone for Special Recognitions as well! This new initiative is in response to longstanding requests from membership that it would be good to recognize the many different kinds of contributions our members make to the SIG. Depending on the response to this year’s call, we'll look into proposing new SIG awards for 2026. Descriptions of the Special Recognitions and link to the nomination form are on our website: https://lnkd.in/gF6tsKyJ

Nominations for the 2025 SIGCHI Awards are now open! Please submit nominations by midnight AoE on December 14, 2024. This year, we also invite SIGCHI Special Recognitions to honor contributions that may not be fully captured by our existing awards, such as Excellence in HCI Education, Community Building and Outreach, and many more! These will help us identify new permanent awards to propose for future cycles. Refer to our website for details about the awards, recognitions, and nomination process: https://lnkd.in/gF6tsKyJ
