  • This month, AdvancedMD employees and their plus-ones arrived at the University of Utah's Rice-Eccles Stadium dressed to the nines for our very own Casino Night🎉💛 The food was delicious ... black truffle deviled eggs, blue cheese and mushroom tartlets, wagyu yakitori, baked brie with orange marmalade, charcuterie cones, carrot cake, and more. The games were a blast and the raffle prizes were amazing. But the best part, as always, was the company🫶❤️🥰

  • Nearly a third of medical group owners surveyed by MGMA say that AI tools are a top tech priority this year, outranking EHR usability, RCM systems, and patient outreach. "This points to a marked shift from a similar poll in November 2023 in which EHR usability led with 35% and AI tools accounted for just 13%," according to MGMA Managing Editor Chris Harrop. Among the practices that are prioritizing AI, the top goals they hope to accomplish with the emerging technology include: ✅Documentation and charting efficiency ✅Automation and workflow optimization ✅Enhanced patient interaction ✅Clinical support and innovation ✅Operational improvements ✅Policy and implementation guidance Read the full survey findings at: https://lnkd.in/gtPkpbT7 #HealthcareTechnology #PrivatePractice #AISolutions

  • According to a recent Gallup Poll, nurses are THE MOST TRUSTED professionals among the 23 professions included in the annual "Honesty and Ethics Professions Ratings" survey. Not only do nurses rank as the most honest and ethical, but they have earned the highest rating every year but one since 1999 when Gallup first added them to the annual survey. Meanwhile, medical doctors—while still ranking high—saw the biggest drop in trust of any profession in the past four years. "Trust in medical doctors has fallen 14 percentage points since 2021. After reaching a historical high of 77% in 2020, doctors’ ethics rating not only returned to its 2019/pre-pandemic level of 65% but, at 53%, is now the lowest since the mid-1990s," according to Medical Economics. • A contingency plan can help minimize the impact of a ransomware attack on your private practice. But it's not enough just to have a plan in place. "Having a downtime contingency plan and TESTING it is vital to get through events of this nature with minimum disruption to your practice," according to TLD Systems co-founder Dr. Michael Brody. "When you develop and review the plans for your practice, you should have separate downtime plans for each system in your practice including your EHR, billing, and phone." Dr. Brody has published an insightful post on the AdvancedMD blog that lists important questions medical groups owners should consider to safeguard their systems, starting with: 📢 Do you have a plan in place? 📢 Have you tested the plan to make sure it will work when needed? 📢 What paper forms might you need to best record information from patient encounters during this down time? • A new study from researchers at NYU Langone Health, Johns Hopkins University, and other U.S. institutions estimates that 42% of Americans over the age of 55 face a lifetime risk of developing dementia. "That number is more than double previous estimates due to improved documentation and tracking of the disease," writes Medical Economics assistant editor Austin Littrell. "The aging U.S. population, with 58 million individuals now over age 65, is a major contributor to the projected surge in cases." According to the study findings, healthcare providers will see an estimated half-million new dementia cases this year, increasing to potentially one million new cases annually by 2060. The study also revealed that Black adults and individuals carrying a variant of the APOE4 gene are at a significantly higher risk of dementia, underscoring the need for public health initiatives that directly address the growing dementia epidemic.
