Our latest study with Camus Energy reveals the tipping point for AES Indiana arrives when 5% of customers on average install residential EV chargers. Even at this relatively low system-wide adoption level, a subset of neighborhoods see much higher EV adoption, with 1 in 5 neighborhoods exceeding 10% adoption. With real-time EV visibility and data-driven distribution planning, AES Indiana can defer 87% of expected feeder upgrades for an average of 5.8 years and 66% of service transformer upgrades for 8.4 years. 📄 Read the full study below. #EVAdoption #SustainableEnergy #Innovation
🔌🚗 AES is thrilled to announce our findings from our new study with Camus Energy and AES Indiana, revealing the optimal investment period for electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. Serving over 500,000 customers in Indianapolis, we've discovered that a tipping point of 5% residential EV charger installation triggers significant grid benefits and capital savings. By 2029, we anticipate reaching this inflection point, unlocking $7.3 million in net present savings from 2025 to 2035 and offering $75 million annually in capital flexibility. Our data-driven strategy will enhance grid reliability, defer costly upgrades, and prepare us for a future where EV adoption reshapes energy consumption. AES is committed to leading the charge in sustainable energy solutions. ✏ Read the key findings and download the full whitepaper: https://lnkd.in/gtXCCZnU #EVAdoption #SustainableEnergy #Innovation

AES Indiana's annual day of service, Day in the Parks, brought together over 300 of our people who dedicated over 1,700 hours enhancing and beautifying Garfield Park, Indianapolis’ oldest park. Day in the Parks has been an iconic 14-year tradition for us, rotating to various parks in Indianapolis. This year's event marks the first in our two-year partnership with Garfield Park. When we invest time and resources into the community, it becomes a remarkable day of service and teamwork, while supporting our customers, the community and even where our own people live, work and play. Thank you to our partners The Parks Alliance of Indianapolis and Indy Parks and Recreation for your continued support and collaboration. #AllTogether, we’re making a difference.

At AES Indiana, we're focused on powering Indiana’s future and maintaining our state's competitiveness in a rapidly evolving energy landscape. As part of our commitment to affordable, reliable energy, we've proposed plans to repower Petersburg Units 3 & 4 from coal to natural gas. This transition aligns with Indiana’s energy policy and is the result of an open and transparent Integrated Resource Plan process. Sustainability is critical for Indiana’s long-term growth, and we’re committed to making responsible energy decisions that reduce our environmental impact while supporting economic progress. Transitioning to cleaner energy sources like natural gas is a key step in our journey to create a sustainable future for our communities. In his latest op-ed, Ken Zagzebski, President of AES US Utilities and SVP at The AES Corporation, discusses how these efforts will continue providing affordable, reliable energy to over 520,000 customers. Together, we’re building a brighter future for Indiana.
