Sometimes as an overseas subsidiary of a German parent company, it is possible to feel a little remote from what is happening elsewhere in our group of companies. Today, it was great to catch up colleagues to hear that agriKomp is currently building biomethane or biogas plants in at least ten other countries : Switzerland, Hungary, Sweden, Poland, Finland, Mexico, Czechia, Germany, France and Italy #agriKomp #biogas #biomethane

GNI are seeking expressions of interest from current or prospective biomethane producers who may wish to inject into their facility at Mitchelstown #biomethane #agriKomp #Ireland
Gas Networks Ireland is inviting current and prospective biomethane producers that wish to inject renewable gas into the Mitchelstown central grid injection facility to register their interest before close of business on Friday, July 12th, 2024. The €30 million GRAZE Gas Project is led by Gas Networks Ireland and is supported by more than €8.4m in funding from the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications’ Climate Action Fund. A key element of the project will be the development of a central grid injection (CGI) facility in Mitchelstown, County Cork. When fully operational, the Mitchelstown CGI will have the design capacity to inject up to 700 GWh of renewable gas into the gas network, delivering a saving of up to 130,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per annum with 100% biomethane. This facility will be a key national asset to help meet Ireland’s Climate Action Plan biomethane target of 5.7 TWh by 2030. An indigenous renewable gas industry in Ireland will support numerous Irish climate policy targets and initiatives. In addition to addressing Ireland’s security of supply, the GRAZE project will also provide significant opportunities and benefits for rural communities and difficult to decarbonise sectors of the Irish economy.
