I am deeply honored to have been selected as one of the 7 researchers across Asia for the Early Career Researchers (ECR) Programme 2024-25, organized by the International Research Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region (IRCI). It was an unbelievable experience to present my research on the food traditions of Jharkhand, focusing on indigenous food practices, at the Asia-Pacific Research Forum for ICH Safeguarding International Conference — New Frontiers of Research for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage, held at the National Museum of Ethnology in Japan ♥ This milestone would not have been possible without the guidance and support of my mentor Dr. Neel Kamal Chapagain, my peers, and the incredible people of Jharkhand - Dr Manisha Oraon (The Open Field), Rishabh Lohia (Wild Harvest). I am grateful for the opportunity to engage with such an inspiring community of scholars and for the chance to contribute to the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage. About IRCI: It was established in 2011 as a Category 2 Centre of UNESCO to promote the 2003 Convention and its implementation, and to enhance the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) through instigating and coordinating research in the Asia-Pacific region.
