Improve environmental knowledge and decisions by providing a neutral forum for exchanging information
About us
The core Purpose of A&WMA is to improve environmental knowledge and decisions by providing a neutral forum for exchanging information. The Mission of A&WMA is to assist in the professional development and critical environmental decision-making of our members to benefit society. A&WMA's West Coast Section (WCS) was chartered on January 11, 1957, and originally included the nine western states and British Columbia. Most of that territory has since become separate A&WMA Sections and currently, the geographic area of the WCS encompasses Southern California from San Luis Obispo County to San Bernardino County (excluding southern Kern County) and south to Mexico and the Mid-Pacific Region. The WCS includes the following Chapters: Channel Islands, Mid-Pacific, Mojave Desert, Orange County, and San Diego as well as Chapters in Ghana, Singapore, Thailand, and Delhi (India). In addition, the Section includes several Student Chapters at universities within the WCS.
