Navigating challenges in #Haiti over recent years has been no small feat. Political instability and violence, natural disasters, staff security concerns, and distribution and technical assistance delays have tested our operations. Despite facing significant obstacles, we remain steadfast in our mission to move health forward, warehousing and distributing critical medicines and commodities to 270+ service delivery points across the country, in collaboration with Chemonics International under the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management. Through proactive planning and collaboration, we are working to ensure that life-saving medicines and commodities continue to reach the people who need them most regardless of the circumstances. Here's a glimpse into how our Haiti project manager Khumbulani Mpofu and his team are doing it. #supplychain #supplychainmanagement #logistics #globalhealth #publichealth

Advancing a new generation of responsive health system strengthening solutions. Together, we are moving health forward.
About us
Formerly known as the Axios Foundation, Akesis was born in 2000 from the pioneering efforts of its founders in implementing one of the first antiretroviral (ARV) treatment programs in Africa. In 2020, the Axios Foundation was renamed Akesis. Over the last 20 years, Akesis has worked with public and private sector stakeholders to strengthen health systems and access to healthcare in more than 35 countries around the world – expanding from HIV/AIDS to other critical public health areas including malaria, family planning, cancer and vaccines. Today, we continue to break new ground as we work to advance a new generation of responsive health system strengthening services in parts of the world where it is needed most. As Akesis, we take a unique approach that prioritizes both systems and people to enable quality, reliable service delivery for more sustainable outcomes. Akesis offers a full suite of responsive health system strengthening services that put local institutions in the driver’s seat and build upon existing infrastructure, systems and human resources.

Our team members, like Nyong Effiom, are integral to our quest to strengthen health systems across the globe. As a Warehouse Assistant, Nyong contributes to this mission by providing insights and analysis to optimize the supply chain, helping to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and ensuring accurate inventory records to prevent stockouts and overstocking, which can both disrupt the supply chain and affect service delivery. We invite you to learn more about our work and our team at akesishealth.org.

At Akesis, our sample transport personnel are integral in ensuring the prompt and secure transport of specimens to support accurate diagnosis and timely treatment of infections such as HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis. Insecurity can be a challenge in some locations where we operate. To help ensure uninterrupted operations, we have found that stationing our personnel strategically in close proximity to our assigned facilities can help reduce turnaround time for sample analysis, ultimately helping patients receive the care they need when it matters most. #supplychain #globalhealth 📷 Akesis Sample Transport Team, Delta State, Nigeria
