Earlier this month our latest AEC Audiophile Music Club convened in AKRF's PinDrop acoustical rendering suite for music, refreshments, camaraderie, and sonic bliss in one of the quietest rooms in New York City with optimal audio and acoustics. Our theme: 4/4 No More! While the 4/4 time signature is a regular and simple beat pattern widely used in most forms of popular Western music, musicians of all genres—from esoteric to mainstream—have been experimenting with odd time signatures. For this session's theme we celebrated songs that embrace a time signature other than 4/4 at some point within their song's composition.
