ALIGHT is thrilled to share some big news - we are a winner of the MIT Solve Challenge! It is truly an honor to be recognized by a global panel of experts as an “innovator that leverages technology” to improve and scale resources for survivors. Over 10 years ago, while representing survivors in NYC with Sanctuary for Families and then working on trafficking issues in Eastern Europe with PILnet, our founder Marianna Kosharovsky recognized the critical and unmet need for legal services in survivors' recovery. The stories she heard from survivors led to ALIGHT’s founding, and have shaped our work ever since. For nearly a decade we have been on the front lines developing ethical technology that connects #humantrafficking survivors with attorneys who fight for their rights. This legal assistance helps remove barriers to employment, housing and even child custody. Winning the MIT Solve Challenge will enable us to scale our impact and assist even more survivors. This achievement is a direct result of our incredible team, tech partner Caravan Studios, a division of TechSoup, colleagues at National Survivor Law Collective (NSL Collective), attorney and law firm partners, provider partners, Board members, Advisors and community of supporters who believed in the vision of a more just world for survivors. We want to say thank you, most of all, to the Survivors who continue to fight for their freedom. Congratulations to our incredible fellow winners!
