  • 🌱 Looking back at 2024! Over the last month we’ve been celebrating our incredible community members, and some of their wins from the last year. There is so much work happening that we will be continuing to share celebrations from the community in the new year. But we also want to take a moment to share a few of our own wins! 2024 has been a big year for All The Elements. We’ve expanded to a part-time team of six, put in place a lot of governance, spoken to more people, run more events than ever and continued to build and grow our resources. Over the year we have: 🌱 Provided over 150 1:1 support calls - hitting a huge milestone of 600 calls!  🌱 Ran five All The Elements (Online) Socials. 🌱 Ran three Disability Campaigners' (Online) Social. 🌱 Partnered with Wild Rumpus to deliver programming at Timber Festival supported by Patagonia. 🌱 Ran our Summit event, which brings together people of colour working on access and representation in the UK outdoors. Supported by Patagonia and HF Holidays.  🌱 Partnered with YHA Outdoor Citizens on The Outdoor Connection an event supporting leaders to scale and sustain their work, supported by Natural England and Sport England. 🌱 Reached a milestone of 300 groups on our community Directory.  🌱 Developed our written content to better amplify the amazing work happening in the community. And so much more, as well as all our regular work behind the scenes. None of this work would be possible without you: our community, partners & supporters. It’s all the people who make up All The Elements that make the community what it is and make the work possible. So, as we finish this post, and wrap up on 2024 we’d like to finish with a final congratulations and thank you to you all. Thank you for everything you do, we can’t wait to see what 2025 brings 💙. #DiversifyOutdoorsUk 📷 1,2 from Timber Festival , 3 by Leslie Latchman taken at The Summit and 4 taken by Grace TSP taken at The Outdoor Connection Wild Rumpus CIC Patagonia HF Holidays YHA (England & Wales) Natural England Sport England

Known for her infectious enthusiasm, she encourages new cyclists and demonstrates that cycling can be fun and inclusive.” CeCe is a ride leader at The New Forest Off Road Club (NFORC), has been featured in films and magazines, and inspires others through her story. • We’re looking back at 2024 and celebrating the achievements of our community throughout the year. Next up is Black Tri Tribe who turned two in 2024! Despite having faced challenges, they’ve made a huge impact in their community. Continuing to grow and expand their offerings. They now run a variety of events including: Community Walks, Swim Sessions & Triathlon Events in both London and Brighton. Talking about their work in 2024, Annakay (BTT’s project co-ordinator), has shared: “One of our proudest achievements has been the success of our swimming program, which has significantly increased water safety awareness and confidence among participants. Additionally, our walks have brought together a diverse group of people, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Another highlight was our Brighton Triathlon on June 1st, 2024, where we tripled our numbers from previous years, welcoming participants aged 6 to 60. This event showcased the growing enthusiasm and inclusivity within our community.” We asked if Annakay had any lessons from the last 12 months. “If I could go back in time” Annakay shares, “I’d advise myself to prioritize self-care and delegate more effectively. Balancing the many facets of this role is rewarding but can be overwhelming without the right support systems in place.” And so what’s next for 2025? “Looking ahead, we’re excited to further expand our reach by launching more inclusive programs and fostering deeper community connections. A major goal for the next 12 months is to host even more successful triathlon events in both London and Brighton, building on the momentum from this year.” A huge congratulations to the whole team on everything you’ve achieved!

  • This December, we want to celebrate some of our wonderful Community Member’s 2024 successes! And next up we're celebrating Rhian, founder of Glide Gals UK - A women's Paragliding community - who have recently had their first film premiered at Kendal Mountain Festival! We caught up with Rhian to learn more about the inspiration behind producing the film 'Soar: a girls' paragliding roadtrip', "I started paragliding about 2.5 years ago, but I quickly realised that I was the only woman out flying, and it would be another year before I first managed to fly with other women. I felt quite alone, even though the community were amazing. This loneliness led me to starting my own project to try and inspire other women into paragliding, start a conversation about diversity, and promote the amazing women in this sport. Just under a year ago, I met John Westall, or Westie to his friends, who wanted to help me. He came up with a crazy idea to invite one of the world's top female paragliders, Kinga Masztalerz, to fly with us in the UK. The aim was to connect with upcoming pilots and inspire women in the sport. I wanted her visit to reach more people than the few she'd meet on the trip, and so I came up with the idea of producing a film. I hope this film not only makes our women and community proud, but is a bit of inspiration for you all!" A huge congratulations for this project and all the work that went into it! You can find the trailer through our website linked in bio and the full film will be available to watch online from February 2025. #DiversifyOutdoorsUk #DiversityOutdoors #AllTheElements #OutdoorCommunity #HighFlyingWomen

  • This December, we want to celebrate some of our wonderful Community Member’s 2024 successes! We caught up with Founder and CEO Lewis Garland to learn more about what Fences and Frontiers have been up to this year! Fences & Frontiers organise cultural and nature-based activities for refugees and asylum seekers living in London. These range from coastal walks to art sessions in the woods, museum visits to theatre trips. ☀️ What feels like the biggest achievement for you this year? "This year we’ve put on a more diverse range of activities than ever, working towards our goal of creating a tapestry of interrelated cultural and nature based activities. These have included trips to the Peak District, South Downs, Kent Coast, author talks, museum and theatre trips, plant potting, gingerbread making and more. It’s an exciting journey to be on, and one that is only possible thanks to our incredible volunteer team. I’m sure, like other All the Elements members, the greatest sense of achievement for me, always comes from seeing the difference we make to our participants lives. It’s participants sending whatsapp messages telling us that being part of our group is the first time they’ve felt truly welcomed and at peace since leaving their homeland. It’s those moments of magic, when people start singing or dancing together in the woods, jumping in the waves or faux-fighting with autumnal leaves. One further thing I think worth mentioning is our response to the racist riots in the summer. Not only were we able to give people living in asylum hotels the friendship and solidarity they needed through this time, but in working with trusted journalists (at LRB and Third Sector) we were able to get their voices and experiences properly heard." ☀️ What are your hopes for 2025? "In a wider sense, l hope that we, as a country, can end the race to the bottom around refugee and asylum seekers rights and instead begin to build a more compassionate and fair asylum system." In this episode, Marlon shared his personal experience of how spending time in nature can help us process grief and why he believes it’s important to help others experience the healing powers of the outdoors. He also discussed the importance of encouraging young people to spend time outdoors, highlighting the joy of seeing them “do what kids do—climb trees, explore, get their hands dirty, and develop a curiosity about the world.” Since setting up We Go Outside Too, over 1000 people have joined nature hikes and retreats! Based in Birmingham, The Black Country and West Midlands, the main aim of We Go Outside Too is to create a safe haven and a chance for individuals to explore the natural environment and enhance their health and well-being. • This December, we want to celebrate some of our wonderful Community Member’s 2024 successes! Allie Mason teamed up with Elemental: The challenge award for grown-ups to create ‘The Autistic Adventurer’s Support Guide To The Elemental Challenge’! We caught up with Allie to learn more about the project. 🌿What was it about the Elemental Challenge that made you want to collaborate with them on this project? "It would have to be the passion and enthusiasm of Elemental Challenge's founder, Helen. She reached out to see how we might be able to work together, and it was clear from the outset that she cared deeply about ensuring everyone who wanted to access the challenge would have the resources to do so." 🌿What was your biggest learning from writing this guide? "That making something accessible doesn't have to be difficult or expensive! It can be as simple as presenting the right information in an easy-to-access format, as we have done with this guide." 🌿What feels like the biggest achievement or celebration from the project for you? "I think this is still to come - I can't wait to hear about the first time someone uses the guide to help them decide which activities are right for them within the framework of the challenge." A huge congratulations to you both, we can't wait to see where the guide goes and the impact it has! You can take a look at the guide through this link: https://lnkd.in/edKS7GwB
