Our PASS event wrapped up today with members participating in strategic discussions on priority topics like Medicare Advantage, Drug Pricing, Medicaid, ACA Tax Credits and more. Attendees learned how to leverage stories to push for policies and several are putting it right to practice with Congressional meetings this afternoon. Thanks to all who joined us!

We had a great first day of our Policy and Advocacy Strategy Summit (PASS). Our expert speakers provided insight into the legislative and regulatory landscape for the incoming #Congress and Administration, including a panel of staffers from the offices of Rep. Emmer, Sen. Cassidy, Sen. Thune and Rep. Jason Smith.  Members got the chance to engage in small group discussions to identify challenges and opportunities facing regional health plans. We wrapped up with a conversation on how to use data to influence policy—where we shared an update on ACHP’s exciting data tool coming soon. Learn more about us at achp.org.

While we celebrate progress, we have serious concerns about the proposed coverage expansion for weight-loss drugs due to excessive costs and limited long-term data. More than 20 million Americans rely on enhanced tax credits to keep health insurance affordable, but they are set to expire at the end of 2025 if #Congress doesn’t act. Keep Americans Covered has launched a new tool, a tax-credit comparison calculator, that allows individuals to estimate how much their monthly premium would cost both with and without an extension of enhanced tax credits. The tool considers location, household income, family size and age and provides average prices and estimated increases for bronze, silver and gold plans. The Hospital at Home program has undoubtedly grown in the past decade, providing much-needed care to individuals with disabilities and seniors in the comfort of home, but we need more time to stabilize and spread the program.
