About us
The Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action is a global interagency group focused on child protection in humanitarian settings. We set standards and provide technical support to ensure theat efforts to protection children from violence and exploitation are effective and of high quality. In November 2016, the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action was launched. Agencies, donors, networks, partnerships and individuals concerned about the wellbeing of children came together to reaffirm and step up their commitment to protecting girls and boys affected by humanitarian situations.

📢 Welcoming Mr. Fletcher to His New Role as UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs On behalf of The Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action and the Global Child Protection Area of Responsibility (CP AoR), we warmly congratulate Tom Fletcher on assuming leadership at a pivotal time for the humanitarian movement. Children suffer first and most in crises, making every humanitarian crisis a child protection crisis. As such, we’ve shared key recommendations to ensure child protection is placed at the centre of humanitarian action. Our Recommendations Include: ✅ Making child protection a strategic priority in global advocacy and resource mobilisation. ✅ Ensuring IASC Principals and Humanitarian Coordinators prioritise child protection in policy decisions and throughout the humanitarian cycle. ✅ Upholding accountability to children through a child rights-based approach. We invite you to read our full letter, where we outline a vision for a humanitarian system that is united and mobilised to protect children and support their broader wellbeing. Protecting children is critical for survival, hope, and resilience, breaking cycles of violence and laying the foundation for peaceful societies. 📄 Read the full letter here: https://lnkd.in/gjG2BUKi We are looking forward to our work together moving ahead. #HumanitarianAction #ChildProtection #Leadership
