Blockchain, as a decentralized ledger, is secure, but… That "but" is exactly where Francesco Piccoli and Maxwell Watson started building one of the most exciting startups in the Web3 security space. The name of their venture, part of our portfolio, is Almanax. Almanax leverages large language models to create highly specialized AI agents that identify and fix issues in code, spotting vulnerabilities before hackers can exploit them. To grasp the scale of a $9 billion problem and the story behind Almanax, we reached out to Francesco to tell us more. Hear his insights in the video!

We discovered a vulnerability in Vitalik’s code, and he paid us a bounty for it. Who would have imagined that our very first bug bounty client would be none other than the inventor of Ethereum himself? It took us just 20 seconds to identify an issue in code he personally wrote —without any prior context. Some of you might recall the tweet he posted earlier this year. We ended up building exactly that.

These are the messages I strive for and that make our day at Almanax! Coming from a beta user who is a crypto OG and has led blockchain security at many large companies.
