Here is a year-end lookback at #InOurHands. In 2025, I will expand the footprint of this podcast to look more holistically at planetary issues. I also intend dialing up gratuitous use of the word "holistic." Thanks for tuning in! Ep. 21: Miranda Massie, founder of NYC’s Climate Museum, on art's impact on climate awareness. Ep. 22: Nigel Sizer, Preventing Pandemics at the Source Initiative, on pandemics and climate change. Ep. 23: Bjarne Pedersen, Clean Air Asia, on the air quality–climate connection. https://lnkd.in/gSRTtkwx

Year end climate podcast lookback klaxon, this one for #Futureverse, where Molly Wood and I explore climate change through the lens of fiction. Episode 7: Nathaniel Rich; Episode 8: T.C. Boyle; Episode 9: Edan Lepucki; Episode 10: Stephen Markley; and Episode 11: Jeff VanderMeer. Each of these was awesome, and we are grateful we got to speak with all of them. We’ve just published the fourth installment in our series on impact in the VC industry, a collaboration between Amasia and Malk Partners. Malk is the pre-eminent advisor on impact and ESG for private market investors. This one is on "impact risk," an especially befuddling topic (and one of the Impact Management Project's 5 dimensions of impact). Here we try demystifying it and unpacking the forms of impact risk most relevant to us. https://lnkd.in/gDirdiJs

Just in time for the weekend -- the latest episode of #Futureverse where Molly Wood and I sit down with acclaimed author Jeff VanderMeer (who deserves a gold biscuit for having a LinkedIn profile!). We discuss his latest novel, Absolution, a surprise fourth volume to his Southern Reach trilogy (in bookstores now!), his thoughts on "climate fiction," themes of adaptation, human relationships, and why you should never go in the secret room. Listen on your favorite platform or at the link below. https://lnkd.in/g9-kPnkX

I didn't know what "carbon tunnel vision" was until my colleague Jermayne Ong and I collaborated on this essay. But as you will read, it is relevant to this moment. Carbon emissions dominate climate discussions, but they’re just one piece of the puzzle — non-carbon indicators like air quality, ocean acidification, and others are equally critical for understanding the full scope of the environmental crisis. Ignoring these factors can lead to carbon tunnel vision. We explore why expanding our focus to include these non-carbon indicators is essential for shaping a genuinely sustainable future. https://lnkd.in/d889B22j
