I didn't know what "carbon tunnel vision" was until my colleague Jermayne Ong and I collaborated on this essay. But as you will read, it is relevant to this moment. Carbon emissions dominate climate discussions, but they’re just one piece of the puzzle — non-carbon indicators like air quality, ocean acidification, and others are equally critical for understanding the full scope of the environmental crisis. Ignoring these factors can lead to carbon tunnel vision.
