Last week, Amatec had the opportunity to test scaling the production of HDG concrete with the largest residential precast home builder in Texas. In this pilot, we've been able to demonstrate the rapid and adjustable nature of HDG concrete's setting time, zero usage of cement and versatility in design (this time we went with a marble-like finish). A special shoutout to Steve Butler and his team from Arcosa Specialty Materials for contributing a pallet of gypsum to the demo. Happy to announce that Amatec has secured a $40,000 grant from the New Jersey Commission on Science, Innovation and Technology (CSIT) to conduct further research and development on High-Density Gypsum concrete in partnership with New Jersey Institute of Technology's Concrete Industry Management (CIM) department. Amatec is pleased to announce that its first ever cradle-to-gate Life-Cycle Assessment of HDG (high-density gypsum) concrete is now completed. The result of the modelling shows a climate change impact of 65.0 kg CO2-eq per ton of high-strength HDG concrete based on the EN 15804 + A2 method, placing it amongst the lowest carbon-emitting concretes on the market.
