"Recent events are an opportunity for President-elect Trump and the new administration to re-evaluate the unchecked power of the commercial insurance industry." Read the latest from AAPM Foundation board member Shravani Durbhakula, MD, MPH, MBA on The Hill.

My guest essay in The Hill dissects the unchecked power of publicly traded insurance companies and outlines systemic policy reforms for consideration by President-elect Trump and the incoming administration. The tragic and inexcusable killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson highlights a harsh reality: patients and physicians have reached a breaking point. It’s time for transparency, accountability, and reform. Read the full essay here: https://lnkd.in/epTFTRnc #Healthcare #InsuranceReform #HealthPolicy #TheHill #Accountability

Innovative research is shaping the future of pain medicine. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial found that a combination of 6% THC and 11% CBD: • Delivered pain relief and symptom freedom within 2 hours. • Showed sustained outcomes at 24 and 48 hours. • Achieved results with minimal intoxication and no serious adverse events. This study was featured as a scientific poster last year's annual meeting, demonstrating the power of shared knowledge to advance patient care and address persistent challenges in pain medicine. Do you have research to share? ➡️ Submit your abstract to be featured at #PainConnect2025: https://bit.ly/4grhksf #PainMedicine
