Our founder Melissa Roberts gives thoughts on the end of hurricane-season, the impacts of flooding, and the work we can do to drive long-term solutions. Watch her waterloop episode here: https://lnkd.in/ew-dFnim
Hurricane season is coming to a close this year, but flooding isn't just a hurricane-season problem. Its a challenge for communities all across the country, including communities far from the coast. This is why my conversation with waterloop couldn't have come at a better time. As hurricane season ends with damages estimated at $500 billion, and a string of back-to-back major storms, it's vital that we don't just reflect on the season, but also look to solutions that can help us prepare before the next storm hits. By using accurate data to understand what's at risk, helping communities access federal funding more quickly, and embracing community-driven solutions, we can move from simply bracing for the next storm to establishing long-term proactive solutions. https://lnkd.in/ey6pFpRv
