Last but not least in our series, Australia and New Zealand are home to some very important companies in the electric boat space. ZeroJet has strong offerings with their electric jet system, partnering with Highfield Boats and many other companies to produce some dynamic products. Incat Tasmania and EV Maritime are building some of the largest fully electric ferries in the world, and several new electric hydrofoil entrants including Vessev are coming to market with commercial ferries and recreational boats. Although Asia has fewer entrants, the region has a large footprint in the electric boating space. ePropulsion has been growing in popularity for years by making affordable, fun, and easy to use electric motors, and has since expanded into a full product line. Commercial companies' Navalt and Yinson GreenTech produce fully electric ferries and crew boats respectively, and newer companies ' ExploMar and ELECTRINE produce exciting high performance outboard motors. In many ways Europe is the epicenter of electric boating. With strong political incentives, and cultural preferences, every coastal country contains a company or several producing electric boats or propulsion systems. It's also interesting to observe the cluster of companies that populate the Alps mountain range. Electric boat companies from France, Switzerland, Northern Italy, Austria, Slovenia, and southern Germany all contribute to preserving their pristine mountain lakes with clean and quiet electric power. North America has several new entrants to the electric boat market, and also one of the oldest. The "Electric Launch Company" or Elco started producing electric boats in 1893, and now has a range of small to medium range inboards and outboards. As might be expected, there are several companies located along the west coast and in Florida, however it is interesting to see the cluster of companies located in eastern Canada and the US north east. This region containing the St. Lawrence river, 'Thousand Islands' and the finger lakes in New York, along with the North East are all popular boating areas when the weather warms. Heading east from there we find the Great Lakes, and numerous smaller lakes and rivers popular for boating and fishing. Over the next few days we're going to look at the distribution of companies that make electric boats and propulsion globally. We'll look at specifically where these companies are located geographically starting in North America, and moving eastward to Europe, Asia, and finally Australia and New Zealand. While many companies are located in expected places, some interesting patterns also emerge. It's also important to note that these visuals show where these companies are located around the world, and not sales volume. While Europe currently dominates in terms of number of companies, it's important to remember that many components come out of Asia, as well as nearly all of the battery cells. Noticeably absent are South America, the Middle East, and Africa. There are electric boat sales and use cases in all of these regions, however all of the vessels in these places come from companies and shipyards in Europe.
