Investors Look For Opportunity Zones To Get An Extension And A Fresh Dose Of Tax Advantaged Capital   Thank you to Roodgally Senatus (Roody) Senatus from ImpactAlpha for speaking with Steve Glickman, Patrick Mullen and Andrew Gibbs, CFA, for his latest story on #OpportunityZones.   According to the article, opportunity zones represent a rare chance for bipartisan cooperation. The program, originally part of Trump’s 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, has mobilized as much as $84 billion from private equity investors looking for capital gains tax relief in exchange for investments in nearly 9,000 designated low-income census tracts. Arctaris Leads $30M Opportunity Zone Investment to Transform Baltimore's Shuttered Embassy Suites Into Affordable Housing   Arctaris is pleased to announce an equity investment in a $30 million opportunity zone hotel-to-residential conversion opportunity in downtown Baltimore. Arctaris Impact's investment will be used to convert a formerly abandoned hotel into a vibrant 303-unit multifamily development, addressing the city's pressing housing shortage. The transaction marks Arctaris Impact's fifth investment in Baltimore. Arctaris Impact Investors and Saddleback Mountain release Saddleback’s first Impact Report. Over the last four years, Arctaris Impact Investors has invested over $42M in Saddleback Mountain, helping revitalize nearby communities in Western Maine. These investments have resulted in nearly 240 jobs, a new workforce housing complex with 70 beds, and a 7.5 megawatt solar farm – and much more. The Saddleback Mountain Impact Report highlights the Mountain’s progress to date since its re-opening in 2020 and highlights the importance of the ongoing sustainability of this economic, recreational, and cultural asset. Arctaris Impact and Circuit Avenue Join Forces to Transform Blighted Properties into Affordable Homes, Addressing Urgent Housing Crisis   Arctaris Impact Investors and Circuit Avenue, a minority-owned real estate investment firm, are joining forces to tackle the nation’s critical shortage of affordable housing.   This transformative initiative will breathe new life into hundreds of vacant single-family homes in underserved communities, converting them into safe, quality rental housing for families earning less than 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI). As a first step, Arctaris invested $11 million to revitalize hundreds of vacant single-family properties in Detroit, and the firm plans to replicate this strategy in other underserved communities throughout the U.S.    The deal team consisted of Nihar S. Amazon has partnered with ICIC and Arctaris Impact Investors to launch the Amazon Accelerate and Empower (Amazon A&E) Program!🎉 This new initiative is designed to speed up the procurement and capital readiness of participating Diverse Owned or Small Businesses (DOSBs). The Connecticut pilot comprises 30 businesses of diverse backgrounds from various industries, including construction, wholesale, retail, and more. Since the Opening Seminar held in Hartford in July, the program has hosted three virtual sessions focused on marketing strategies for working with large organizations, responding to RPFs, and working with Amazon and its allies. Three additional classes will be held before the in-person closing session in November.
