We are proud to welcome Dr. Michael G. Coords, as our Medical Director of Cardiac & Cardiovascular Imaging at Arizona Diagnostic Radiology. Dr. Michael Coords is a board-certified radiologist with expertise in Cardiac and Cardiovascular imaging. He completed his radiology residency at Northwell Health in New York where he was Chief Resident, followed by fellowship training at the University of California San Francisco. His distinguished professional career includes several academic appointments, awards and honors, and leadership positions. Most recently, Dr. Coords held positions at a general radiology company, where he served as the National Medical Director, overseeing nearly 200 radiology offices in 11 states, and as the Director of Cardiac and Cardiovascular Imaging, personally reading over 5,000 CCTA exams per year. Dr. Coords has been actively involved with the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) as the committee lead for their health policy/regulatory task force and engagement with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Dr Coords is also a member of the RadSite’s advanced diagnostic imaging standards committee for radiology accreditation. Dr. Coords has extensive experience working with companies focused on cardiac imaging technology including artificial intelligence. This primarily includes functionality review/design, new technologies, applications to patient care, improvements to radiologist efficiency/accuracy, reimbursement and workflow implementations. Under Dr. Coords’ leadership, Arizona Diagnostic Radiology is launching a comprehensive cardiac imaging program focusing on expanding access to care, providing clinicians with the highest level of service and empowering patients to take ownership of their health. As Medical Director of Cardiac Imaging, Dr. Coords is dedicated to improving the cardiac imaging experience and outcomes for our patients, while optimizing and advancing the field of cardiac and cardiovascular care. https://lnkd.in/gQfZuxs

MRI produces very clear, detailed pictures of internal organs and structures in your body. It uses a powerful magnetic field, radio waves and a computer to create images in cross-section. An MRI lets your health care provider see structures made of soft tissue, such as tendons, bone marrow, ligaments and cartilage, and organs in your chest, abdomen and pelvis A CT scan is an advanced type of X-ray. Multiple X-rays are taken rapidly from a number of different angles around the body and then arranged by a high-speed computer to produce a cross-sectional view. Can be used to visualize internal organs, head, neck, spine or extremities
