How can we respect "invasive" plants, while also healing ecosystems? Here are laser-engraved ornaments we made from chopped privet wood from the Stenis Tract. They bear the image of a Golden-cheeked Warbler: one of the endangered species who benefits from our habitat restoration work! Glossy Privet is highly invasive in the Stenis Tract, the parcel of land we are restoring in the Bull Creek Watershed, Central Texas. Even while we work hard to remove privet, we are finding small ways to honor its beauty. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/g26UVzDw

Dating back to the fifth century, the Collect "can be used to pray for all sorts of concerns: pets and pandemics, sublime sunsets and despoiled seas, solar eclipses and oil spills, bitterly cold mornings and raging hurricanes." - W. Beautiful archway artwork can be seen throughout our new digital guidebook: Worship and Creation, which was designed by Ben Johnson at Tending Oaks Creative 🪻🌿🌼 A series of eight arches, each with a different plant, accompany each section of the guidebook, and six of them come together to form a single arch on the cover. "As a Christian and someone who cares deeply about ecological thriving, it’s been really meaningful for me to work in this project." - Ben Johnson For more art, prayers, and reflections, request your copy of the Worship & Creation Guidebook at https://lnkd.in/gsNZFdwq

We loved reading the reflections from Tristy Osbon who has been working w/ Wilderlands as part of our partnership with A Rocha USA. From setting up song metres to track bird calls at Budgerum to weekend walks and stumbling across wombat burrows, Tristy provides a wonderful insight into what working with the Wilderlands conservation team looks like and our aspirations to expand internationally in the years to come. A massive thanks to our conservation partner Cassinia Environmental for helping to connect us with A Rocha across both Australia and the US, and especially for helping us discover the immense talent that is Tristy. Read her story on the A Rocha USA website: https://lnkd.in/gkGWJQvr
In July, I packed my bags and moved across the globe to explore a partnership between A Rocha USA and Wilderlands, an Australian-based company focused on biodiversity and conservation. After several months of collaborating with the Wilderlands team, working alongside the incredible ecologist Deanna Marshall, and having the pleasure of working with Cassinia Environmental—a key partner with Wilderlands—I couldn’t be more grateful for the experiences I’m taking away. To read more about my time in Australia, learn about Wilderlands, and see what we hope this partnership will accomplish, check out my story, Wombats of the Wilderlands: A Glimpse into A Rocha USA's Partnership in Australia. Thank you to everyone on the Wilderlands and Cassinia Environmental teams—you bring deep knowledge, love, joy, and passion to this work. I’m so thrilled that we get to continue working together! To find sustainable solutions for the planet, you sometimes have to view things from a fresh perspective: new voices, new strategies, perhaps even a new hemisphere. Venture with our new Florida Conservation Coordinator, Tristy Osbon, as she reflects on her habitat restoration work in Australia alongside our new partner organization, Wilderlands, and as she looks ahead to applying her experiences to her work with A Rocha USA! https://lnkd.in/gkGWJQvr

We are thrilled to welcome Tristy Osbon to the A Rocha USA team as our new Florida Conservation Coordinator! Tristy joins us after spending 2.5 months in Australia where she worked with Wilderlands on their "Biological Diversity Unit" approach to conservation (stay tuned to learn more!) Now, Tristy joins us in Florida in a joint position with Wilderlands to bring their biodiversity protection and conservation model to the U.S. She will also assist with engaging our Florida cohort of Churches of Restoration in practical creation care. Join us in giving Tristy a warm welcome!
