This message acknowledges the balance between efficiency and (hopefully) the real people behind the scenes who say they genuinely take the time to review each application.     Embracing Experience in Hiring! 💡 For those who travel, it’s no secret that the airline industry is shaking things up by hiring more flight attendants over 50, and honestly, it’s about time. I’m not saying this because I’m over 50 - I’m saying it because there’s real value in life experience, especially in customer-facing roles. Think about it: in an industry that demands empathy, patience, and resilience, who better than someone who’s been through a few decades of life’s ups and downs? Older flight attendants bring a sense of calm and confidence that can put passengers at ease, handle unexpected challenges, and bring a depth of interpersonal skills that simply can’t be taught in training. They’ve lived it, and they know how to bring stability and professionalism when it’s needed most. By embracing age diversity, the airlines are sending a clear message that every stage of life brings value to the table. It’s refreshing, and let’s be real, having a team that mirrors the diverse age range of passengers enhances the travel experience for everyone. Don't you think? Unfortunately, despite the clear benefits, ageism still exists in many hiring processes. Older candidates are often passed over due to outdated stereotypes that they’re less adaptable or tech-savvy. Yet older employees prove that they’re more than capable of learning new systems and adapting to change if given the opportunity. They bring commitment, professionalism, and a level of reliability that many organizations crave. I hope this is setting an example for others to follow. Age should never be a barrier to employment; if anything, it’s a strength.
