We're equally as excited to enable buyers at Christie's auctions the opportunity to pay for their purchases over 10 months. Learn more about our official launch with the Prints and Multiples auction, April 16, New York - https://bit.ly/3J4o9RX
Christie's is proud to announce that we have invested in Art Money to offer a 'buy now, pay later' scheme on art bought in our sales for under $1mn. This partnership will allow buyers to pay for their purchases in up to 10 monthly instalments. The first sale to benefit from this service will be our prints and multiples auction in New York on April 16. All 173 works in this sale are eligible for Art Money. This investment has been made possible through Christie's Ventures fund, which has already invested in ten businesses since its debut in 2022, with between $250,000 and $2mn per company at launch. We are excited to offer this new service to our buyers and continue to innovate in the art world. Read more about our partnership with Art Money in the Financial Times. Paul Becker Devang Thakkar

Creative thinking, innovation & empathy: art’s transformative impact by Paul Becker Medium "Isn’t the arts just a rich persons plaything? Looking fancy at the opera? Spending up big at the auctions for status? I deplore this stereotype of art & culture and believe it’s holding back our society, let alone artists and the industry. I truly believe that more art, and more artists, in the world makes it a better, smarter place." https://lnkd.in/gMajx7Kt

Feature: Sotiris Sotiriou In a recent conversation, we spoke with esteemed Art Money partner and Founder of COMA, Sotiris Sotiriou. Sotiris offers a glimpse into his personal collection, showcasing a piece by contemporary figurative artist Justin Williams. Additionally, we ask Sotiris to spotlight a significant work from COMA’s dynamic roster of artists - an artwork that would make a striking addition to any buyer’s collection. Established in late 2016 by Sotiris Sotiriou, COMA emerged as a contemporary art space, initially conceived as a project-based initiative with the aim of introducing international artists to audiences in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. Over time, COMA has evolved into a multidisciplinary team of specialists dedicated to presenting an unparalleled gallery program, showcasing a diverse range of artists. Many of these artists have shown, or have gone on to show, in major museums, biennales and commercial galleries across the globe. In September 2022, COMA expanded its footprint in Sydney and opened a second location, offering the space for additional viewing rooms and enhanced programming. “Art Money is an integral part of the collecting landscape today, facilitating greater acquisitions for experienced collectors and providing emerging buyers with ease of access to growing a collection.” - Sotiris Sotiriou Full feature - https://lnkd.in/gjTb4fxa Photo by Dean Qiulin Li

How to finance your art collection: Collectors are increasingly using loans to buy; Art Basel examines the mechanisms. Dionne Harmon, an Emmy-winning producer based in Los Angeles who has been collecting since 2015 and was referred to Art Money by the artist Knowledge Bennett. ‘I had been eyeing one of his large-scale pieces from the “Obama Cowboy” series, Five is Power (2017). At that point, it was the most expensive piece of art that I had ever considered purchasing, at USD 50,000,’ she says. ‘I told Knowledge that I loved it but I was nervous about spending that much money upfront.’ He told her about Art Money and, says Harmon, ‘I was all in.’ Piece written by Sarah Hanson Published 31 January, 2024 https://lnkd.in/gfiJKuPZ
