Cooling systems are vital for daily life, especially when it comes to protecting #medication and food. Unfortunately, traditional cooling methods have serious environmental trade-offs, including high energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and their contribution to urban heat. The good news: sustainable alternatives are emerging. Nicole Mortillaro's article for CBC News explores how we can work toward more efficient solutions. For a closer look at the challenges and opportunities around #sustainable cooling, check out the full piece here: https://lnkd.in/gmmj7E3q

Within the context of carbon removal, the Time Value of Carbon (TVC) is a powerful idea. In our newest piece, we explain TVC, its value/limitations, and how a TVC framework can make sustainability efforts more impactful. At Artyc, this concept is especially relevant because we deal with refrigerants—gases with a massive environmental impact. The key point of TVC is that by responding now, we can avoid the compounding effects of delayed action and steer clear of the most dangerous climate scenarios. Ultimately, when you take into account factors like TVC, it becomes clear that it’s not just about what we do—it’s also about when we do it. And when it comes to climate action, sooner is always better. Check out the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gbNCTs7t

By 2026, UPS is aiming to reach $20 billion in annual #healthcare revenue. It would double their 2023 amount, and to reach that goal, one of the areas they’re focused on is bolstering their cold storage capabilities. The aim is to better meet the needs of #biopharma products, and the company has also made several acquisitions to strengthen its cold chain operations. Another major player, DHL, recently launched a new cold chain service that’s used by organizations like Siemens and Eli Lilly and Company.
