ASCOLA is the Academic Society for Competition Law. Founded in 2003 it now has a stellar and great membership of competition law academics around the world. Each year, ASCOLA members meet in a conference to discuss the hot issues of antitrust, abuse of dominance, restrictions of competition, merger control and related topics. We know this is what you have all been waiting for: the call for papers for the annual conference - which takes place in Chicago (USA) 26-28 June. Want to join us in Chicago this year? Of course you do! So pick one of the three streams (stream 1: academic papers; stream 2: ECRs; stream 3: early project ideas) and submit by 27 January. We look forward to welcoming ASCOLA members at Loyola University Chicago, where we will be hosted by the wonderful local organizer Spencer Waller. Not a member yet? Don't fret - non-members who meet the criteria for membership (academics specialising in competition law and/or competition economics) can make a submission and apply for membership ahead of the conference. On 22 November 2024 at 2 pm CET (Brussels time) we invite all ASCOLA Members to consider "Critical Perspectives of Competition Law”. Dina Waked will give us her critical evaluation of competition law and economics. Kati Cseres will speak about competition law and feminism. And finally, Greg Day will address the race problem in US antitrust. Giorgio Monti will be the discussant. The Zoom link was sent as an ASCOLA news alert.
