Asphalt Pavement Association of Indiana - APAI

Yesterday marked the official start of the 2025 training season, with 34 participants from producer contractors, INDOT, and engineering firms gathered for the four-day INDOT Certified Asphalt Technician (ICAT) course. Over the next three days, attendees will engage in in-depth classroom instruction and hands-on lab training, culminating in a certification exam. A special thank you to the Indiana Department of Transportation for graciously opening its facilities and hosting this year's course!

Brooks Construction Company, Inc.'s Derek Miller, a graduate of Trine University was interviewed and highlighted in the winter edition of the NAPA Quarterly magazine! The article also mentions the APAI Scholarship Program, of which we are extraordinarily proud. In 2024, through the participation in the association's scholarship fundraising events, along with support from the NAPA Scholarship Fund, APAI was able to award $42,000 to 22 deserving college students from across the state! Registration is now open for the 2025 INDOT Field Supervisor Certification Program! The Field Supervisor course, hosted by the Asphalt Institute, in collaboration with APAI and the Indiana Department of Transportation , is a comprehensive one-day certification designed for field personnel. Participants will gain essential knowledge on best practices for asphalt mix design, placement, and compaction. The 2025 course will take place on Tuesday, February 25th, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM at the Ivy Tech Conference Center and Culinary Institute in Indianapolis. The cost to attend is $225 per person.
