Congratulations to Dr. Erica Pan on her appointment as director and state public health officer for the California Department of Public Health. She joined the agency in 2020 and previously served as state epidemiologist and acting state public health officer. Dr. Pan also served in various leadership roles at the Alameda County Public Health Department (2011–2020) and the San Francisco Department of Public Health (2004–2011), including health officer and director of communicable disease control.
