About us
In 1971, the AFBNJ was launched through the efforts of distinguished attorneys and leaders of the bar. Our founders recognized a need for judges, attorneys in the private bar, and federal law enforcement attorneys to be able to work together. Enhancing and strengthening professional relationships among these professionals with assistance and training was our founders’ goal. AFBNJ is governed by seven officers, a 40 person Board of Trustees that assures attorney representation from all over New Jersey, as well as lawyers from different practice areas, and an Advisory Board composed of past presidents and judges. Among AFBNJ events connecting the federal bench and bar in our District, and educating attorneys are: - The United States District Court Judicial Conference - The William J. Brennan, Jr. Award - William H. Gindin Bankruptcy Bench Bar Conference - Continuing Legal Education - Brown Bag Seminar Luncheons - Young Lawyers Networking

Thank you AFBNJ Trustee Daniella Gordon for guest speaking at a recent naturalization ceremony in Camden! https://lnkd.in/gpGDiV9S

Thank you to the District of New Jersey and the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey for inviting me to be the guest speaker for a recent naturalization ceremony in the federal court in Camden. I was honored to be part of the ceremony, led by Judge Pascal, in which we welcomed 40 new citizens representing 21 different countries (and a whole lot of family members and observing high school students) to the United States. It was also an opportunity to reflect upon and share my mom’s story of leaving the USSR for Israel in the 1970’s, and then leaving Israel for the US in the 1980’s. Every person in that ceremonial courtroom has a story, and it was a privilege to be able to share a small part of my family’s background. Welcome, again, to all of these new citizens as they continue to build their lives in the US.
