Romaine and Airport Commissioner Shelley LaRose-Arken for landing JetBlue at ISP. Put your trays in the upright position.   

Hat tip to the smart folks at Rechler Equity Partners who continue to build quality multifamily developments to help address Long Island's housing shortage. Also, thank you to Town of Brookhaven Supervisor Panico and the Town Board for supporting housing developments and a pro-economic development agenda. Looking forward to many more Greybarn communities.

No, we did not take an ABLI field trip to Miami, its our Associate Board meeting at B2K Development's The Boardwalk residences in Long Beach. Kudos to Jan Burman, Steven Krieger, David Burman and Jon Weiss for accomplishing what many others could not and building one of the most premier oceanfront developments on Long Island. #LongIslandRealEstate #EconomicDevelopment

School boards have the right to be heard on any economic development proposal in their community but approving this proposal would begin to create self-destructive behavior within IDAs where special interests begin to determine how, when, or even if economic growth will be allowed on Long Island. The result will be a paralysis in private sector community investment, which ironically, is the only means to prevent school taxes from skyrocketing. #LongIsland #EconomicDevelopment

Regional Economic Development Organizations (EDOs) help attract and retain businesses across the country. The Long Island Regional Economic Development Council is rightfully researching the potential benefits of such an organization for Long Island. Affordability continues to hinder our region and we must address flawed school funding formulas as well as excess reserve funds if we wish to address affordability.  Today, Newsday Media Group ran our opinion essay on this topic.

Kudos to the Long Island Regional Economic Development Council on its statewide competition victory and the $10m award to spur critically needed housing on Long Island. This award will power and shape our shared agenda and could not be timelier as municipalities begin to apply for pro-housing community certification to access hundreds of millions in Long Island Investment Funds. This plan is consistent with the Governors housing agenda of incentivizing municipalities to build housing while incorporating community input.
