The values behind Environmental, Social, and Governance (#ESG) data form a critical framework for assessing material risks, used by investors and businesses worldwide. As this data becomes increasingly accurate and sophisticated, financial analysts, companies, and regulators are working to close gaps, address inconsistencies, and standardize metrics for easier comparability. The need for high quality material risk data has never been higher. The information is out there, mostly generated by non-profit advocacy groups. The demand for high-quality material risk data has never been greater. Much of this valuable information originates from non-profit advocacy groups, leading the charge for #transparency and #accountability. Some days things just fall into place perfectly. Yesterday was that day. Things that fell into place: 1. James C. Rhee came to Stockholm. It is something we have been discussing for two years since we met at TED (In the meantime, aside from being a private equity investor, CEO, business visionary, James become best selling author, his book "red helicopter- lead change with kindness" is now number 1 non-fiction book in USA!) 2. Partnership between Ethos, Claim.Impact, the red helicopter and As You Know resulted in an event where we discussed sustainability but from a bit different angles - talking the language of kindness, new economics, sustainability data and public private partnerships. Amanda Hagberg 3. People who came were from different sectors, worlds, areas of work- united by a shared commitment to do better—for both the planet and its people. 4. Malin Speace lead us trough new sustainability regulations, Anna König Jerlmyr, ex mayor of Stockholm told us about (more) livable cities, Mersiha Causevic Podzic reminded about the importance of sustainability data, James C. Rhee talked about ....well, life, and leading better, more meaningful lives (at least this is what I heard) and I, I tried to connect all our gender and climate budget analysis in the public sector, with all the ESG work that companies are now doing. And say, we have the tools, and we need to connect... 4. So finally, it is clear that collaboration and exchange between public, private, academia, climate and gender advocates- is probably the only way towards actual sustainability. We shall all speak one language. We just need to re-learn it:).

🔍 Andrew Behar, CEO of As You Sow, a leading U.S. shareholder advocate non-profit, emphasizes the importance of #ESG as a framework for assessing and managing risks. A pro-ESG perspective 📈 In a world where unpredictability is the only certainty, assessing and managing risk is critical. Whether it's a T-shirt manufacturer struggling with supply chain disruptions due to natural disasters like the floods in Pakistan, or companies striving to attract and retain top talent by prioritizing their social responsibility, the stakes are high.
