Raymond Horner is the Director of Industry Affairs at STI member company, Atkore. We're proud to have someone with Ray's extensive knowledge, expertise, and commitment to our industry involved with the Steel Tube Institute. As part of STI, Ray has been instrumental in leading several of our projects, including comparative testing between metal conduit and competitive products and a Grounding/Electromagnetic Interference study done in partnership with the Georgia Institute of Technology. The study proved that metal conduit provides an effective ground fault current path and would trip the safety device in the event of a fault. Software and IOS/Android apps were developed as a result of this study. Ray's extensive industry involvement also includes: - taking part in several National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) technical committees - serving as the STI Conduit Technical Committee Chair - participating on NEC Code-Making Panels 3 and 5 and representing the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) on the NEC® Correlating Committee - chairing NEMA’s Codes and Standards Committee; leading oversight and approval of NEMA standards, technical papers, field representative presentations, and the organization’s positions with external groups such as Underwriters Laboratories (UL Solutions) and the NFPA Ray, thank you for your passion and dedication to advancing safety in the electrical industry.
