2,001 first responders and correctional officers received meaningful and memorable in-person autism training in 2024 from Autism Safety 101 Inc. 80% of these training sessions were 8-hours in length. In 2024, CARD, Autism Safety 101 Inc, and the City of Miramar joined forces to deliver essential autism recognition and response training to 220 police department employees and 53 firefighters. Each of these City of Miramar first responders received 8 hours of in-person training. 🚔🚒 This collaborative effort wouldn’t have been as impactful without the incredible autistic self-advocates who shared their personal stories, offering valuable insights into the lived experiences of those on the spectrum. 🗣️💙 By working together, we're creating a community that is more informed, understanding, and inclusive. On Wednesday, I provided autism training to 73 law enforcement officers from across the Rio Grande Valley. After the training, Alex Chief Casares with the Los Fresnos ISD Police Department gave me this card. This card means more to me than the best course evaluation form I’ve ever received. Yesterday, Autism Safety 101 Inc provided autism recognition and response training to 73 officers from the Rio Grande Valley. More than 11 different law enforcement agencies participated in the training, including officers from the US Border Patrol.
