Last week, we announced a significant expansion of our presence in North Carolina with the establishment of two new bases of operation at Charlotte’s Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA) and Wilmington International Airport (ILM).   This expansion brings even more travel opportunities for North Carolina Customers, with five new routes launching across ILM and USA, as well as Avelo’s first two international routes from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). With these seven new routes, Avelo now serves 27 nonstop routes from North Carolina — offering Customers greater access to affordable, convenient, and reliable travel options.   We’re deeply grateful for the warm reception we’ve received and the trust our Customers have placed in us. Milestones don’t get much bigger than this: our maiden international flight departed this morning from Hartford, Connecticut’s Bradley International Airport (BDL) for Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ)! Avelo is the only airline offering nonstop service between Connecticut and Jamaica, and we’ll be operating between Hartford and Montego Bay twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays, beginning today.   This connection brings even more choice to our Customers who rely on Avelo to provide reliable, affordable and convenient travel opportunities to 29 destinations from Connecticut. We expect to provide plenty of Caribbean sunshine for vacation-goers as well as an important link for Jamaican communities to connect with friends and family in both countries.   Our inaugural service to Montego Bay will be followed next Wednesday with our second international destination — Cancun, Mexico, taking flight from Hartford.   Special celebratory fares are available on Aveloair.com for a limited time.

On November 7th, we proudly marked a milestone with the opening of our base at Hartford’s Bradley International Airport (BDL). With the addition of BDL, Avelo now serves Connecticut with a dual base operation shared with our base at Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN).    Meeting our Customers and hearing their feedback was truly inspiring. Time and time again, they shared what keeps them flying Avelo: smooth and hassle-free airports, the warm service from our dedicated Crewmembers, and our industry-leading reliability.   This expansion is about more than just new routes—it’s about bringing affordable, reliable, and seamless travel to more Customers. 𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘧 𝘖𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘖𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘳 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘨 𝘉𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘯: Yesterday, I had the honor of celebrating the expansion of Avelo’s Connecticut regional base with the inauguration of our airline’s first flights from Hartford’s Bradley International Airport (BDL). With the addition of BDL, Avelo now serves CT with a dual base operation shared with Avelo’s Southern Connecticut base at Tweed New Haven Airport (HVN). It was inspiring to meet so many of our Customers yesterday – both new and returning travelers. When I asked them what they appreciated most about Avelo, they shared the same things I hear from so many of our Customers — the speed and ease of the convenient airports we use; the welcoming and attentive service our Crewmembers provide; and our industry-leading reliability. Speaking of reliability, I’m excited to share that Avelo led the industry in on-time performance in October — the 7th straight month. In fact, we are the only U.S. airline that has achieved a 90% or better on-time arrival rate for the last two consecutive months. Our year-to-date (YTD) reliability is also setting the pace for the industry — with a #1 ranking in on-time performance and the lowest flight cancellation rate among U.S. carriers. As America’s most reliable airline and with 16 new routes on deck this month, I couldn’t be more optimistic about the opportunities ahead of us. However, nothing brought me more inspiration yesterday than celebrating our airline’s momentum with my fellow Avelo Crewmembers. As the saying goes, it takes a team to make the dream – and there is no better team of aviation professionals than the 1,000+ Crewmembers here at Avelo.

On November 3, 2021, Avelo flew its first flight from Tweed New Haven airport with a full airplane of Customers heading to Orlando. Since then, we have carried over 2.6 million Customers on almost 20,000 flights, and we now serve 27 markets supported by over 250 Crewmembers working at Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN). Our success at Tweed is gratifying, but not particularly surprising. Tweed offers a smoother and better experience due to its small size and convenient location. Our everyday low fares, industry leading on-time performance, and our Soul of Service delivered by our caring Crewmembers, all paired with the convenience of Tweed, is a winning combination. Apart from fulfilling our Purpose to Inspire Travel, we are proud of the active role we have played in the community, as a sponsor and supporter of many worthwhile causes and organizations, including Special Olympics and Make-a-Wish. As the largest airline in Connecticut, with more seats, flights, and routes than any other airline, we are proud to call ourselves Connecticut’s hometown airline. The expansion of our footprint in the state, with our first international flights from Bradley International Airport starting later this month, will only add to the convenience and flexibility our Customers in Connecticut can continue to expect from Avelo. As a Premier Destination Provider & Partner of Make-A-Wish® Connecticut, Avelo is proud to help make wishes come true. For 7-year-old Carter, it was his wish to go to Disney World with his family. There are over 70 Disney wishes in the Queue in Connecticut, and over 300 total wishes waiting to be granted, many of which were put on pause during the pandemic due to travel restrictions for many of these children.
